Brown rice is good for you, but it's just a tad bit grosser, and not as sticky as white rice. (Like eating whole wheat pasta vs. normal pasta)
I don't mind eating brown rice, but my mom hates it because she has to chew it 2-3x longer than she does white rice. She's always like, "Kenny, I grew up eating white rice and I was always skinny." But then she realizes that she grew up in Korea in the 50's/60's, so the lifestyle is completely different from what it was back then, what with technology, fast food, transportation, etc.
A lot of my friends in the dorms eat so much instant food. I know it's cheap and filling, but it makes me sad that they may have to pay that back twofold in the future in hospital bills (and possibly just a lower quality of life ._.)
Healthy people are always like "Well, there's a way to eat healthy without spending too much time and money" and I'm like "WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT YOU SPEAK OF"
I've been trying to eat more fresh fruit lately though, and that's not too time-consuming :O
