Title: SNES
Post by: Adelaide on January 19, 2010, 05:04:55 PM
Yay SNES~!~!~!

o.o Is my favorite console.

My top games:

1. Super Mario World
2. Super Ghouls and Ghosts
3. Donkey Kong Country

I own the system, but for those of you who don't, you can play SNES on your computer with the following links:

Emulator (http://www.emulator-zone.com/download.php/emulators/snes/zsnes/zsnesw151.zip)

ROMS (http://romhustler.net/roms/snes/all)

I think I prefer classic systems over newer systems because of the less complex game play, and the fact that these systems were around for so long before the next model came out, that there is no need to constant replace a perfectly good system for the next big thing. Who has money for that anyway? Not to mention CDs break and scratch a lot easier than cartridges. Also because they were out so long, they didnt stop making games for them for a long time...

Basically :3 SNES pwns PS3 and 360 and whatever other silly systems you people play :3

hey now! because of the DS, snes games have a revival
they have put quite a few snes games on ds, and not remaking them or changing the graphics
but maybe adding a little feature here or there
without the ds, those SNES games might of been lost in time  [sumo]
like my pants

When my SNES finally died last year, I began to cry and fell into a dismal depression, but then my eyes were opened to the world of emulators. Now I can play all the mario games to my hearts content, including my favorite, Mario 2

Emulators are awesome, but I think it's a different experience from playing the actual game on the actual console

Well, yeah, true. It'll have to do though; what few people around here still have SNES game consoles refuse to sell them, and I can't blame them!

But, at any rate, my favorite games:

1) Mario Bros. 2
2) Kirby's Dreamland 3
3) Legend of Zelda

Donkey Kong Country is like #4 or something. It just seemed to lack something

When I lived in the suburbs, in the summer we would drag a TV out onto the porch of one of our houses *We all took turns* and brought over our systems and games and stuff, and sat around gaming and snacking on the porch, and when it wasn't our turn we goofed off in the sun

Title: Re: SNES
Post by: Adelaide on January 26, 2010, 01:07:56 PM
Yeah, I'm afraid of what the game play is gonna be like and how different it's gonna be due to the huge alteration in graphics.

I still play Kirby's Avalanche quite a bit from the SNES, I've played through Super Mario World countless times, Mario RPG was epic for its time. Makes me want to dig out my Nintendo Wii and hard drive so I can play all my SNES games again.

SNES has tons of great games, though what you feel is great will only be determined by the genre you want, i played SNES from its early begginings to its end, i know ALL there is about SNES, some of my favorite games that are more obscure and lesser known include

Hyper Zone
Super castle vania 4
Final fantasy 2
Super Punchout
All of the Top Gears (very fun racing games)
Super off road (crazy repeitive addicting racing game)
Secret of Mana
Soul Blazer
Space football
Ultra man
Lagoon
populus

Theres tons more some SNES games were just crazy in its first 2 years of existance

POPULUS FOR THE PC!

I dunno what TK is talking about, the only populus I know is for the PC and was released back in 1989; they kept making it up to 1999 and apparently in 2007 they made a remake of it for the DS
