Choosing the best Internet Router/Modem
« on: March 27, 2011, 12:21:54 AM »
I'm looking for a good internet router or modem that supports both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connection.  The router that I'm using right now is a 2wire gateway 2701hg-b is starting to become less reliable and I'm just sick of my DSL connection getting dropped or being slow.

So is there a good router that's you guys would recommend me?

well if you can only choose between the two, the Netgear one is better

Yeah- Linksys is my preferred, but Netgear is definitely up there.. I've run both and, though with Netgear I did have a few little problems, Linksys usually ran pretty flawlessly... Netgear problems are really easy to fix though, and theres a lot of online help and tech support

Yesterday I've finally decided to go and buy my new router so I went to Staples.  Over there, I've asked one of the sales associates which is the best DSL modems they have on sale.  He then suggested that that I should get the Motorola Netopia 2247-N8 and said that it's pretty realible.   So I've boughted it for $100.  Once I've installed it at my house, I've tried it out.  Turns out, it he was right!  :D
