So, I decided to build a new gaming rig for myself, heres what i got.
-Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 case
-800 Watt Modular PSU
-Biostar motherboard
-Intel i5 Sandy Bridge (turbo boosted to 3.7ghz)
-Cooler MAster Hyper 212 Plus cpu cooler
-Got a second 120mm blademaster fan for the other side
-8gb of Crucial Ballistix 1800 DDR3 Ram (added to the 8gb i had to make 16gb)
-Threw in my old EVGA GeForce GTX 260 896mb
-Some Asus dvd/cd burner
-Threw in my old dvd/cd rom player
-Antec Veris Premier multimedia station
-Put in my old 12-in-1 card reader
-NZXT Fan controller + LED controller
-Got a Velociraptor 500gb + my old WD Caviar Blue 320gb
-Got 2 more 200mm fans to place on my case
So overall my case has great cable management and i was in love with my build. I spent 5 hours making it. Well, i left my ipod on my graphics card (it was there to provide me some light) i forgot it was there so i turned my computer on. The ipod blocked the fan and my computer shut off. I pulled out my ipod, turned off my power supply and turned it back on. Then i turned my computer back on.
I heard a loud pop, looked inside, my graphics card was burning and smoking, the fans were blowing that all around, the shock caused the motherboard to shut off, this closed the circuit, and some cords began to fry a little bit. I quickly shut off my power supply and cried. :'( Now i had to call evga and biostar and newegg to claim warranty on some of these parts. :'(
