Title: The Seige Of Belmonte Castle
Post by: AnimeFreeze on June 18, 2008, 12:39:30 AM
Introduction

On the coasts of a once war-ridden land, A once thought long dead group of monsters thought only to exist in tales, mercilessly invade a castle town overlooking the high seas.  Feasting on the innocent inhabitants, leaving no spare flesh uneaten. The evening of the attack was calm, twilit, starry one. The sun was tilting its head for a rest, The moon awaken early, to brighten up the sky, A purple hue was sprinkled across the sparse clouds. The grass still held dew from the morning, And the only sounds heard were those of the farm animals, and an unknown trespasser. They came without warning, without hesitance, without mercy. They came to kill, The came to eat, They came to play...They were Vampires. All the Lord's Men was not strong enough to take them, Horses, Riders, foot-soldiers, and peasants alike, fell to the vampires. The night was far too dark for anything to be seen. Screams filled the air, blood flew across the castle grounds. No one was spared, women and children alike, were killed.

Horses galloped in the distance. Their feet slinging up mud, tearing through the plains. Their riders carried lances, Ready for battle.  The Castle gates dropped. The moon's rays gave their armor a silver glaze. It was a full moon that night, ironically; seeing as how everyone went mad that day. The horsemen valiantly charged the castle town, Willing to die to protect their homeland. Like I said...The Vampires didn't go hungry that day.

Rovan was traveling with Eros that day, it was a good day, He was full, energetic, and an overall peaceful summers day. That was of course, until he crossed the hill. In the distance, flames filled the air, emitting from the castle town o Belmonte. The silhouette of the once prosperous town was lit by the burning embers inside the town borders. Screams and Shrieks of pain could be heard even from Rovan was standing. He tripped back from confusion. He sat under a tree on the hill to collect his thoughts. In that town was his only lead to return home. Eros sat in a position to get a better look. There were no soldiers or war machines he said, He concluded that the fight was from the inside. Maybe a peasant's revolt. The two decided to take rest and go to the town in a couple of days. Rovan was angered that his only chance to return home was probably destroyed.

The duo was about to leave until a staggering young girl came into view, Her visage was that of a beaten-up, tired, hungry prisoner. Rovan immediately noticed it was a girl, and honored his code of chivalry by kneeling to the young women and asking if she was OK. She answered with sorrow and a bowed head, she was sobbing, her voice was cracked and her throat was dry and hoarse. "They...killed them..." she stated. Rovan immediately questioned who, "My family....Dead...."

Rovan paused, he did not want to be rude and ask too many questions while the girl was grieving, But she broke the silence saying. "Vampires...DAMN VAMPIRES!" "They came in the night, under the cover of darkness, and attacked us in our sleep! Please Sir, help them...please...theirs survivors but not much time. My brother, he's still alive, Please, he's the only one left from my family, please save him." Rovan nodded, her story pierced his heart, his eyes swelled up in grief, he gave her his silent oath. They shared words and food for a couple of minutes, He was about to get up to rally supporters when a lone vampire came in from the distance, he swooped down with amazing speed and attacked Rovan, but before his demonic claws could pierce his garb, Elena, the young woman, gave her silent sacrifice for Rovan. Eros immediately slashed the demon's neck. Rovan fell to the ground to help the girl, She knew it was too late for herself, Rovan didn't want to accept it, She reminded him of his little sister, Who had also died. He thanked her, and swore to his life, that he would try to save the town, She looked helplessly, trying to grasp air. She would not make it.

Her face became pale and cold. She finally had peace, Her soul was lifted up into the heavens. Rovan cried, Eros watched in discontent. It had been a VERY long time since Rovan shed tears...Too long. His gathered his composure, And was sure to keep his promise. He buried the girl under the Apple Tree and made a makeshift memorial. He would attack at night, but he needed support. He went to the nearest town to gather up some militia and save the town under seige, even if it was his last venture, he would make sure it happened. The plan was simple. He would go to town, get supporters and create a camp outside the castle, Fro mtheir he would atack the castle and free the survivors. But now would be the hard part.

He traveled for a day to the nearest town, He was tired and hungry when he arived, But his words boomed over the crowd, Eros was impressed at Rovan's valor. He spoke as a man, but appeared as a king. He words transformed speach to image, and thought to action.

"My fellow warriors, Our borther and sisters are being slaughtered as if they are pigs. Their honor has been physically attcked, and their children wil lnever see tomorrow. For those that have survived, Let us rally together to save them from evil. Please. I had a young child die in my arms. Ask yourself, What if that was you? What if that was your child? Please let us help them!"

Now, all he had to do was wait. Hopefully, Some righteous man or women would raise their hand in support.
To his surprise....Everyone in the town center raised up their arms in support. Soon, freedom shall come to Belmonte.

Now came the hard part...

Rules

Please follow the basic rules of the new RP Section indicated by the Moderator Red

#1 Moderation is the key:
Having an uber-powerful character that can, with one withering look, decimate everything, does not get you any friends. It is unfair and annoying to those who wish to play properly; it also ruins the game for everyone else. Having a well-balanced character is what people want.

#2 Grammar is as important as Granddad.
Typing without basic punctuation, grammar or spelling it can be very difficult to decipher exactly what is being said. If you're not sure of the spelling, type it out in a word-processing program with a spellchecker so you dont have to worry or get out the dictionary.

#3 Leet must die
Avoid the use of leet or other internet speak which includes the use of y, u etc. Use full sentences and proper sentence structure. Colloquial accents are fine so long as you stick to them and they are easy to understand. [censorbreal] "Arr that it be" in one post then "yea course it is" would be a little out of character, so if you wish to use silly accents then for continuity you need to stick with them really. Also avoid the use of asterisk to signify actions. Use full sentences to display your actions instead.

#4 Use the door not the wall to enter a roleplay.
Time your entrance as best you can. It is no good those already playing being engaged in a fearful battle for their lives when along you come and start chatting to them. It is best to enter while theyre walking along a road or the like.

#5 Whats in a name?
Remember to include your name often instead of he or I as it can be difficult for latecomers to know who you are without referring constantly back to the character bios.

#6 A break from the norm.
You dont always have to be the generic elf, dwarf or human. Branch out, be wacky (within reason) create your own races (but be sure to say what they are!). As long as the cap fits wear it.

#7 SPAM
Dont spam, that includes making lots of single line posts rather than editing your original post.

#8 Godmodding
Godmodding is where you control other characters without their permission. This is frowned upon for obvious reasons as it is annoying and unsporting. People favor those who dont touch this with a ten-foot barge pole.

#9 Autohitting
Continuously attacking another character without giving them a chance to defend themselves. This again is unsporting and more than a little annoying. Avoid like the plague

#10 Be interesting in your bio.
Just like in real-life with a resume; short, vague and not very detailed (much like a dwarf really) is not the way to go. A two-line bio makes for a very boring read. Be creative and interesting, delve deep into your imagination and create something worthwhile to read (though dont be too long)

Amidst the cheering crowd, a baker named Haldor,  reluctantly raised his hand. He had a good life, owned a bakery, with a house upstairs. The baker had seen the chaos and war the monsters had brought to the land, and the pain they have caused, but the idea of fighting them was suicidal! He knew many brave warriors who left the town to fight against the horrid creatures, but had never returned. Now, one of the survivors is talking to him to join the fight?!? It was madness! But the words of the man compelled him to join. It filled him with passion to fight and rid their once peaceful land of the invaders.

Once the crowd dispersed, he returned home and told his wife of what he had volunteered for. She was worried, and didn't like the idea, but still let him go. He set about, packing what little he could bring, some clothes, 200 gold, and the sword sitting above the mantel of the fireplace which had been used by his ancestors to claim these lands so long ago. Haldor pulled out the dusty sword from its resting place and unsheathed it. He was amazed at the near-perfect condition it was in, and he waved it around in the living room for a bit, to get used to it. Soon it was time for him to leave, and he kissed his wife goodbye and set off toward the town square once again.

((Eh it doesn't really matter now, Everyone post please O.o))

Rovan was kind of shocked, He didn't know that all these people cared so much. Some children even raised their hands, only to be pulled out the air by their parent's. "Thank You" he stated. "Please go prepare and meet me by the town square." He walked off the stage with Eros and walked to a small humble cafe in the Square. He had too many emotions running through  him to speak anymore. He hated thinking about the young girl, and her family. He owed her so much yet he couldn't do much of anything at all. He walked through the town, The sun was shining brightly, a few clouds were scattered throughout the sky. Remnants of yesterday's storm. The town's people were quite happy, Unusual, seeing as a whole other town was slaughtered. As much as he wanted to enjoy the nice day, and the pats on the back of the townspeople. He couldn't help but feel guilty. Whispering to himself repeatedly the word "Sorry...". He was a broken record. He took a seat at the cafe. Eros propped himself up in the chair. A nice young waitress came and asked for their order, Eros quickly responded with the words "Bacon, please!". She chuckled at his cuteness, Not at all confused or scared by a talking fox. Rovan found it quite amazing seeing as everyone else was staring at the group. Rovan looked up and broke out of his cycle of apologies and asked for a cup of orange juice and a toasted croissant with butter. She replied happily with a "Right away! Hope you guys enjoy your stay here, I can see you're new to the town of Toshi." Rovan couldn't help but smile in her presence. She was a kind girl. Eros looked at Rovan and said "Nice tush, eh?" He laughed, knowing Rovan would cringe at the thought of disrespecting a girl. "I'm just kidding Rovan, Lord knows we need some comedic relief." Rovan also knew that, His life was getting a bit too depressing.

Rovan looked around at the customer's who were staring at Eros. He liked the attention posing and joking with them. Rovan played with his silverware. The waitress returned with their order. She pet Eros as she fed him bacon, although he could have easily eaten it himself, he liked the feeling of her hand behind his ears. Rovan neatly ate his small breakfast, he had too many thoughts going on at once. How would the battle go? Will he have enough courage to talk to the waitress? She was about his age. How ill he train the townspeople for battle? It seemed to go on forever. All his thoughts stopped however, when the young girl, whose name was stitched into her clothes; "Leaf", came and kissed Rovan on the cheek. "Don't fret Rovan, I believe that you'll get the job done, It's actually quite noble of you..." She blushed and walked shyly back inside to get more orders out. Rovan blushed, Eros laughed.

"Quite the ladies man Rovan!" Eros stated.

"Great...now I have even more things to worry about, good friend." Rovan replied.

In actuality, It made him happy to know that someone cared for him. In back of him a group of people started to form, armed up to their arms and legs with weapons, some advanced, others had pitchforks and machetes. They all waited patiently for Rovan to finish his meal, treated him like a general. He felt bad to know that they treated him so highly, it didn't feel right. it reminded him of when he was in Llyr.

Looking around the town, Haldor noticed many people who had raised their hand actually preparing, bidding their farewells to their families and setting off with whatever they could carry and heading on the same way as him toward the town square. Not noting a furious man storming out a tavern and accidentally bumping into him.
"Oh, I'm sorry", he apologized.

Rovan had ignored the seemingly drunken man before when he came into the cafe yelling, But his time, his actions could not be ignored. Rovan stood up and grabbed the man named "Raz".

"I do believe you owe someone an apology good Sir. You see, in this town, We treat people with respect and kindness. I hope you understand what happens when you don't."

The large group behind Rovan picked up their weapon and stared at Raz, as if they were about to attack.

"I am usually forgiving, But since you yelled at that kind, defenseless waitress, I am a little impatient."

Rovan sat back down, letting the man go. The others put down their weapons and mingled again, waiting for the other townspeople to finish preparing. Eros had an odd look on his face, he stared at Rovan.

"You've never done that before..." He said.

Thankful for Rovan deterring the man, Haldor picked up his dropped items and walked over toward Rovan sitting at a table. Approaching, Haldor pulled up a chair and sat on the chair across from Rovan.
"I just wanted to say thanks for that, I wouldn't have known what to do if he turned on me," Haldor thanked as he smiled.

EDIT: Oooooh, that's a little big. Sorry guys, lol.

Personality: Senka is a very mature young woman; she is serious-natured and approaches life with quite a darkened perspective. Pessimistic and grim, some may even go as far as to call her depressed. Senka doesn’t allow her emotions to get in the way of her goals and ambitions, and doesn’t care about very many people beyond herself. At heart, she is truly a troubled girl, with a dark past and a lonely life.

Relationships: Her mother, Kali Kana (a minor character), myseriously disappeared when Senka was twelve. Senka’s father, Lonan Kana (minor character), is a human who works as a scientist. He vanished from Senka’s life when she turned eighteen, and now he works somewhere in the Northern Region.

History: Senka Kana was born in Mahvash, as the daughter of Kali Kana and Lonan Kana, a married couple. During the past decades, scientists had begun to research a rare internal organism known as Grim (named for its dark color). Since its discovery, it has been known to appear in some human bodies. Scientists are currently researching its properties, and how it affects the humans who are born with it. It has been reported that less than 1% of the land’s population carry this organism.
During the research of Grim, scientists began to hypothesize that this organism was somehow connected to the rumored beings of vampires. Since this speculation, scientists have approached the Grim with caution, most believing that it is the sign of a vampire soul within a being.
Lonan Kana was the lead scientist in this research. He has since been investing a lot of money in projects and research. Both of Senka’s parents were quite busy, resulting in effects of neglect. Now, 24 years old, Senka has left behind the memories of her research-obsessed father and the mysteries and sorrows of her disappeared mother, and seeks an answer to the mystery of the mystic beings known as Vampires.

Race: Half-human, her other half is unknown
Class: Swordswoman
Weapons: Her sword, which is named Catahecassa.
Skills/Spells:
Shadowstorm- After several series of soft-spoken chants form Senka, the Catahecassa glows white and is enveloped in a black aura of energy. Senka waves the blade in a horizontal slash, then a powerful black wave of energy is quickly released from the weapon.
Moonflight- After a special series of chants, translucent black wings of energy erupt from Senka’s back. She is then able to fly several feet from the ground. “Moonflight Form” lasts for several minutes.

Extra Info: Senka suffers from a type of emotional disorder. When extremely emotional overwhelmed, she is known to erupt in violent fits of rage and indignation. She currently takes medicine from a vial; its purpose is to negate the violent effects of Senka’s emotional malfunction, which she calls “Havoc”.

"Now now...I don't wish to fight, I am simply stating this is neither the time nor place for you to be erupting in such a manner." Rovan said softly, a part of him enjoyed the youth's free spirit, it reminded him of when he was at such an age.  Now however, the man's ignorance was petty and inconsiderate. How can he not realize that half of the people in the town were in a solemn state of mourning? It was probably since almost everyone was acting like nothing ever happened. "Now then, If you excuse me...I have some business to attend to. I apologize if this interruption seems rude." He turned to Haldor. "Do not worry, He does not come off as the foolish type." He looked towards the waitress "Thank you for this delicious meal, Please thank the chef for me." Rovan silently slinked out of his chair and into the crowd after paying for the food. The makeshift militia, Eros, Haldor, and Raz all looked at him. He was walking rather oddly. He turned around and simply stated "Isn't it time we left?".

Looking back at Rovan, Haldor said "It seems everyone else seems to want to go. I am ready when you are". As he said this he stood up from his chair and pushed it in. He walked over toward the group forming at the town square.

"Once again, Thank you all. You have been very kind and selfless." Rovan back around and headed through the crowd towards the town's main gate. From there they would journey to the coast, to take back what the vampire's stole from them. It would be a long and strenuous journey, but it would be an iconic one. "Now then, Shall we?". He signaled for everyone to follow him as he left the gates. All together there was about 70 people, much less than expected.

Noticing the incredibly small group than that had raised their hands, Haldor stared back at the ones who had raised but not followed, with a look dismay. The people stared back with a look of sadness and the feeling of letting a friend down. The group headed to the gates, and 2 gate keepers pushed open the giant steel bars, while another in the tower let down the drawbridge, allowing the group of men out into the wild, looking back at the town, the men knew that some of them would never return, while the others would live to tell about those that had perished for the freedom of this land.

(( Aah, it is still daytime, right? ))

"What are these hell-fated people up to now...?" Senka asked aloud, though the question was meant only for her wonders. She gazed at the determined crowd as she stood high upon a mossy cliff. It had to be at least sixty feet high, and was part of a nearby forest area. From behind Senka, two men emerged swiftly from the trees.

One was quite large and bulky; his arms had to be as thick and rough as the trunks of the very trees he emerged from. His face dark and cold, he stood beside Senka, peering over the cliff. His long black hair cast a shadow over the majority of his rough face, and he had to brush away the wet, sweaty hair with his branch-sized fingers.

The other man was quite a contrast from the first man: he was much shorter and more slender. His long blonde hair was tied into a long ponytail, which fell down along his spine. He had a youthful and handsome prince-like face, but his eyes were as red as the sunset skies. He moved to stand on the other side of Senka.

"They're rallying a plan to strike vampires," the blonde-haired young man spoke, his voice soft but smooth-flowing.

Senka turned to give him a serious stare. "Helio...Do you speak of the truth?"

He nodded, then turned to his bulky friend. "Tell her what we witnessed, Thor."

The large man, who was named Thor, spoke in a rumbling voice that shook the trees. "One man...a gathering...a plea for help...United, they agree to fight...to bring wrath upon the vampires of Belmonte..."

"Belmonte? That's where..." Senka began, her eyes widened.

"Indeed," Helio said, a grin spread across his face. The grin revealed two fangs within his mouth, dangerously sharp. "They want revenge."

Senka sighed, staring down at the crowd. She observed the weapons; not many of them looked useful. In fact, most of the warriors looked rather weak and powerless themselves. What damage could these mere humans deal to a vampire?

Senka turned to see both of her allies staring at her with pleading eyes. Thor appeared to even be frowning like a lost child.

"Please, Senka," Helio said, moving close to her. He placed his hand on her cheek. "Don't let them hurt our people. No one deserves to be killed, remember? We vampires are no different from you humans."

Senka slapped away his hand, glaring at him sharply. "I'm a half-human. Get it right, or refrain from speaking of me. Besides, you do not need to beg. I already have my priorities set straight; the humans will not lay a finger on the vampires of Belmonte."

Helio and Thor let out sighs of relief, then exchanged smiles.

"You just reminded me why I respect you so much, leader," Helio said.

"Yes...Senka is...our heroine..." Thor added.

Senka shook her head. "Enough with the flattery. We shall take action soon. For now, do not keep your eyes off of the humans."

The three lowered themselves to a crouch, then continued to watch intently from the mossy cliff. They were well hidden from the humans down below.

(( Whoooo, finally!! ))

Rovan heard the eager man's question. He knew the answer, as well as many others. But no one wanted to answer. It didn't matter anyways, They were fighting for survival, not for joy or revenge, Even wanted Rovan himself wanted to avenge the young girl. If they didn't kill the vampires now, they would attack nearby villages. Hours passed, The evening would be coming to an end soon, If they kept walking, they would reach Belmonte by day, it wasn't really a long walk. He knew most of these people weren't trained, That's why he would help them, but, maybe there were people he couldn't save...The group approached a river. The water was too fast, they would have to set up camp and wait until morning where the tide would fall and they would be able to cross.

"We wait here. Set up camp, eat, and prepare for tomorrow. It will be a long journey." His voiced boomed, everyone heard it. They followed the command, and were glad to, most were tired and hungry. So was Rovan. Oddly, Eros had stayed quiet for most of the trip, perhaps he knew that the group would be vulnerable if they set up camp. We needed someone to guard, but who would sacrifice precious sleep?

(( Thanks, Chickan! I try... XD ))

Senka let out a long sigh, causing Thor and Helio to give her curious glances.

"Is something wrong?" Helio asked in a soft voice.

"This will not do. We will have to follow them directly," Senka expressed her latest realization. She stood up, her body casting a tall shadow in the sunlight. The shadow ran off the cliff and onto the earth below. "We must act as part of their little band for now."

"But what about us? We're vampires!" Helio cried out, standing up as well. "They'll figure out what's going on."

"They will not find out that you are vampires...Until they see your teeth. So you shall wear masks," Senka declared, turning to face the woods. "Kill some animals. Wear their faces as masks." With that said, Senka crouched low to the edge of the cliff, preparing to leap off. "You can catch up with me later."

"Oh sure, no one will be suspicious of humans with animal faces," Helio laughed sarcastically. "But I shall follow the plan nonetheless. Your plans always work."

Helio and Thor then rushed into the woods, to hunt down some animals from whom they could possibly steal a face. Senka launched her body from the cliff, leaping far out into the air. She quickly fell, her body almost crashing into the ground. The impact would have killed her, but after a series of chants, she activated her Moonflight technique. At the last second, the ominous black wings showed themselves, flowing gently from her back. She halted in the air, hovering several feet from the ground, then fell softly and slowly to her feet. After finally reaching the earth, she closed her eyes and withdrew her wings.

Now only about a couple hundred feet behind the traveling humans, Senka stared up ahead at her targets, her glazed blue eyes majestically shimmering beneath the sunlight.

"The stench of man sickens me..."

Eros wandered the camp, trying to enjoy the simple things in life before the battle, It would be his first big battle since he was turned into a fox. The night was ominous, a nostalgic feeling filled Eros' head. Eros wasn't his real name, it changed frequently overtime, Living as a mercenary had its drawbacks; bounty hunters, angry families, former bosses. Eros came upon a tree and took shelter under its leafs.  He remembered his days as a young soldier. Full of pride and power, never thinking about becoming old. Oh, how he missed the day. He stared at the moon, Its face never changed, it was the same as the day Eros was born. It was ironic however, Eros hasn't changed either since he was "born" again. He struggled to remember his real name. A vast list of aliases filled his head, all of them he knew was wrong. He sifted trough name and name again, until...One name held a certain warmth and familiarity; "Auras", even if it wasn't his real name, he would hold on to it forever.

Trying to appear as friendly and humble as possible as she approached the campsite, Senka sighed and forced a feeble smile onto her face. It was not as if she had never smiled before; she just didn't like to do it. What was the point? Happiness? To Senka, happiness was not powerful enough to force her to change her face. Even moreso, she rarely ever felt happy anyway.

Beneath the moon, the campsite was lightly illuminated. There were not many people in sight; most of the people seemed to be already sleeping. Senka sighed.

Why did I have to take so long to catch up...? It's already evening, and the leader is probably getting his rest.

She stopped suddenly, turning her head to face a man sitting with his back against a tree. He seemed to be occupied with a dog.

"Excuse me," Senka spoke softly, her voice a bit more high-pitched than usual. "I'm new. I just tagged along when I heard you all were marching to Belmonte. Can you direct me to your leader?"

Rovan was sitting on a tree stump next to the river, he was reading "LOVELESS" out loud, it never seemed to grow old on him. It was as if he had a connection with it, the moonlight barely made reading possible, but the words floated in his memory, it was as if he was reciting it rather than reading it.

"Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take to the sky
Ripples form on the water’s surface
The wandering soul knows no rest." He said.

"ACT I, LOVELESS...."

He closed the book and put it on the floor next to the rest of his things. He looked towards the camp where scattered camp fires scarcely illuminated the militia and their tents. He sighed, and put his head between his hands.

"Excuse me," Senka said, her voice soft, but still interrupting the dark silence that semed to have surrounded Rovan after he finished reciting the words from the book.

"I'm a little late here. I would like to ask if it is not too late to join your forces," she said, tilting her head downwards so he could get a better look at her face, and her icy blue eyes.

Tending to keep quiet and out of the way was part of his persona, and there was no exception now. As he sat in his tent at the far side of the camp, silently sitting on his bedding. The flicker of his lantern hanging on the side of his tent giving what small light it could give. Haldor was reading a book he had bought weeks ago, The Naked and The Dead, but had been putting it off due to his work in the town.

Soon after, his lantern had started to fade and his eyes began to strain. He placed his book onto his bedding and grasped the dying flame to find more fuel for the fire. Stepping out, he discovers it is already late in the evening, and he quickly crosses camp to find the needed resource before dark sat in. On the other side of camp, he notices, another person, a woman, and Rovan, who was sitting on a stump.

Rovan lifted his head out of his hands. His eyes settled on a young woman with piercing eyes, her figure and presence reminded Rovan of his lost love. He was lost for words, was it really her? No. It couldn't be. She died centuries ago, how could it be her? He noticed he was staring and quickly averted his gaze.

"I apologize for my rude manners...Uhhh, Wha...Excuse me." He stood up and faced the opposite direction of the woman, He was confused, he couldn't speak, his mind was flooded with memories of the fateful day. It became reality. He found himself on the battlefield, dressed in his royal armor, Llyrian soldiers flooded the flanks of the battlefield, in front of him, an enemy soldier pleading for his life. Cannonball and arrows alike boomed in the distance. His eyesight went blank.

It was back to the present and Rovan had fainted on the floor, his head was bleeding.

((AF I think we're both wrong, Senka was talking to Chickan, since in his post it said Senka was talking to man that was with a dog))

Haldor continued walking through the camp, and reached the supply wagons. He climbed inside and began rummaging through the things to find some fuel.

"Swords, rations, cloth, medical kits...Where's the damn fuel?" He cursed as he continued searching.

(( Hmm? Senka was first talking to Chickan, now she's talking to Asamashii. Sorry if I confused you guys. ^_^ ))

"What the hell?" Senka spoke softly, her eyes slightly widened. What was this human's problem?

She slowly crouched low to the ground, then turned his head with her gloved left hand. She observed him, coming to the conclusion that he was no longer conscious. Even moreso, blood seeped from his head and into Senka's palm. She did not jerk her hand away, but rather, slowly removed it from beneath his head, letting his head rest softly on her knee.

"Someone get first-aid! Your leader is injured..." Senka called out, her voice demanding and fierce.

This man...For some reason, he appeared to be uncomfortable, the moment he looked at me. Does he detect something...? Nevertheless, I must act like I care...

Upon hearing a voice calling for help, Haldor immediately grabbed one of the first aid kits inside the supply wagon and jogged back to the stump which he had passed.

"I heard a call for help over here, what happened?" Haldor questioned.

(( Actually, Rovan's head is bleeding...))

"Thank you," Senka said politely as she took the canteen from the young man from earlier.

With a gentle push, she dumped the water out. It rushed as a cold flow, splashing upon Rovan's face softly. The water that missed his face splashed onto Senka's knee.

She sighed, suddenly discomforted by the cold water. She watched Rovan, waiting for him to awake.

"Your leader...He just...suddenly fainted," Senka spoke, looking up to face the man named Haldor. "Should we move him into a tent?"

Rovan slowly came back into consciousness, he tried to move but knew it would be better if he just rested, He wanted to say something but he wanted to regain his composure to make sure he didn't say anything stupid. He looked around and saw the young woman holding his head up. Yep, she almost looked like an exact copy of his long lost love. He closed his eyes again as if he wanted to be somewhere else.

Eros trotted over and sat by his side.

"Thank you for helping him, I don't know what happened. He probably fainted from exhaustion, he has been working hard all week."
"Maybe we should let him sleep...Would any of you mind bringing him to his tent?"
"I would really appreciate it."

Eros knew fully aware that he wasn't asleep, but he wanted to talk to Rovan one on one about what just happened.

((OH! Now I get it, I was confused, thinking it was Rovan's memory with him bleeding on the ground))

"I'll bring him, guess I've been pretty useless so far." Haldor offered, as he grabbed Rovan upon his shoulder and began trotting back to Rovan's tent.

Senka nodded to Eros, speaking a soft, "You're welcome," and watched Haldor carry Rovan off to a tent.

Hmm...So it seems I shall have to wait.

Turning to Raz once more, Senka replied, "Yes. Goodnight."

The evening had finally darkened into night, and Senka grew a bit cold. Just as she was turning to find an unoccupied tent, she stumbled directly into a large man dressed in bear-skin. She bounced back lightly, but the heavy man did not budge. His face was hidden; he wore a mask of a bear face. In fact, because of his large size, he almost looked like an actual bear. His fingers and obvious human-like posture gave him away though.

"Thor...That disguise will do," Senka spoke quietly to her comrade. Thor looked to his feet, nodding slowly.

"I told him he was overdoing it with all the fur," spoke Helio, who appeared from behind Thor. On his face was a mask of a fox, and he had remained within his normal tunic from earlier. "After all, it's only necessary that we hide our faces. Right, Senka?"

"Indeed," she answered him, looking oddly at the sharp, dangerous looking fangs protruding from the mask's mouth. The disguise almost appeared ridiculous, when Senka realized that Helio looked just as bloodthirsty as he did even without the mask.

"So what's the plan? We gonna strike?" Helio asked eagerly. "Looks to me like almost everyone is snoozing."

"Lower your voice," Senka snapped, her eyes darting precautiously around the campground. "Do what you feel you must. I'm going to go see the leader."

Senka then left Helio and Thor, as she followed in the direction of where Haldor was carrying Rovan.

"I am...hungry..." Thor grumbled, glancing at Helio.

"I know. Me too. It's okay though, Senka just granted us permission to feed ourselves."

Upon reaching Rovan's tent, Haldor set Rovan down onto his cot.

"Boy, am I tired..." he yawned, as he turned to see Rovan's dog (?) staring up at him, "Ok, ok, I'm leaving." he said as he bent over and petted Eros on his head before walking outside of Rovan's tent.

"Sheesh, They never get it right...I'm a fox." Eros said.

Haldor was clear out of view, he left before Eros could even say thank you. Rovan was resting on his bed. He came to. The tent was lit by candlelight, Eros watched over him on one side of the tent.

"I saw something...When I fainted...I saw something..." Rovan slowly said, taking in deep breaths between words.

"You need to rest Rovan, don't talk so much..." Eros replied.

"I...I.. saw something..." Rovan ended, with that he slowly crept to sleep.

"What the hell happened?" Eros said. It was indeed a very crazy night, what the hell happened to Rovan?

With that the night ended, Hopefully Rovan would be able to tell us exactly what the  [cen]  just happened.

(( Oooh, hold on, you posted too quickly. XD Let's not end the night yet. My characters wanna have some...fun. ^__^ ))

Senka nodded to Haldor as he left the tent. She didn't know exactly why she nodded, it was just an act that seemed to suit the moment. She would have spoken, but she felt that her priorities hardly involved this man named Haldor.

She stood outside Rovan's tent, waiting. It was quite unclear even to her what exactly she was waiting for.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Helio and Thor picked out the perfect tent. It was much farther away from all of the other tents. It was large, allowing room for much movement. Its material was thick, most likely soundproof. It was set up beneath tall, shadowy trees. As dark as the night was, it could almost not even be seen. But the best part was that the tent was occupied.

The two took their seats, quietly seating themselves on the ground beside the tent. They waited calmly --- at least, Helio did. Thor seemed to tremble with excitement; his eyes grew wider every minute.

"When silence befalls upon the night, and the luxury of rest envelops the humans, we shall strike," Helio promised his companion.

The moment Haldor walked out of the tent he again met that women from earlier on. He nodded back as she nodded to him.

"Why are you here?" Haldor scolded, "You should be getting some sleep."

"Alright," Helio spoke, a smile spread lightly on his face. He waved his hand at Thor, who almost didn't see him because of the night's darkness. "Let's do this. Make it quick...But oh-so-satisfying."

Thor didn't need that repeated; he rushed into the tent like a silent storm. He was monstrously aggressive, fierce as a rhinocerous, but at the same time, he was as a gentle as an exotic dancer.

The entire ordeal was ghastly and gory. Helio immediately counted seven figures in the dimly lit room, and their bodies were quickly torn apart by his fangs and claws. He let his true inner vampire be released -- removing his fox-mask, he lunged at the humans with a blinding speed. He made sure not to take too long on one body. The job was quick: lunge, feast, move on.

After a mere ten seconds, Helio and Thor had devoured the blood and flesh from all of the men in the tent. Aside from the two vampires, not a single life lingered. They both wiped their own faces, then slowly crept for the exit.

"That was easier than I expected it to be," Helio laughed quietly. "No screams, no cries of pain, nothing. Must've penetrated the soul on the first purge of blood."

"Errrgh..." Thor groaned. "Helio...You...got too many...I only got...two."

"That's because you take too long with one body," Helio answered quickly. "Maybe we'll get some more tomorrow. Let's not do it all tonight. We gotta balance out our meals."

And with that, the two left the bloody tent and the body remains. Reeking of blood, they darted into the woods. They hoped to find a lake to wash themselves...

====================

"Ah..." Senka said to Haldor, caught off guard. "Indeed, you are right. I was just looking for an empty tent..."

She stopped, waiting for Haldor to walk and disappear into the night.

Being the nice person that he was, he offered, "I'm pretty sure there's more tents down where I sleep, I could show you if you'd like." Haldor pointed down the row of tents toward his.

"Ah, no," Senka insisted. She waved her hand in a gesture that seemed to be telling him to walk off. "I'm fine. You look like you could use some sleep yourself."

Dammit, why won't this man take the hint? He's getting in my way... She thought, turning to face Rovan's tent once more.

((lol, fine, fine, I thought you were going to have a "talk" with Rovan and Eros))

Yawning once again, Haldor gave up, "Yeah, I guess your right, maybe you should ask Rovan for a tent. Good night." and Haldor walked off toward the end of the camp toward his tent.

(( Sorry bout that, this'll be it for the night. ))

Senka nodded once more (for no particular reason), then watched Haldor disappear into the night.

Now...this will be easy, assuming the creature is also asleep.

Senka slowly stepped into the tent, glancing around slowly in the darkness. The dim light revealed Rovan's sleeping face, as he rested. Senka almost stepped on him; she hesitated before taking another step. Backing up, she readied herself for the strike. She brought the tip of her sword right up to Rovan's neck; it would be a clean, simple kill.

Unfortunately for Senka, something inside stopped her from continuing. A gallant innocence seemed to radiate from Rovan, almost as if an internal power was threatening Senka. She suddenly did not want to kill the man.

Aah...what is wrong with me? I neevr have troubles killing a human being...

Senka suddenly backed away, her breathing growing tense. The radiating innocence had grown thicker now.

Dammit, I can't kill him...Is it some sort of magic?? Ah, it does not matter...I suppose I can try again tomorrow...

She slowly backed out of the tent, still watching Rovan. Strange, he had been sleeping so vulnerably and exposed to the wrath, why was it so difficult to kill him? Senka practically had a free shot.

She sighed, then finally headed off into the woods in a sullen silence. This human leader would have to die another night.

The night slowly faded, and midnight glory faded with dawn. Rovan slowly awoke to a beam of light piercing through a small cut in his tent. He grabbed his head, it was lightly bandaged. He looked at Eros, he was quietly sleeping in the corner. Apparently it was early in the morning, Eros was always the first to awake. Rovan kept his armor his tent, he quietly exited his makeshift home. The moon was still in the sky, it was a quiet morning, the birds joyfully joined in a harmonious choir. The tide had fallen in the night, the group would have to go into battle soon. Not a soul was outside of their tent except for Rovan. He thought about what happened last night, it still scared him. Before he blacked out, the evil witch who put this curse on him...arose from the dead after he had killed her. Could it have been a message? Does she walk this world once again? It could be possible, A look-alike of Rovan's wife was in fact walking around the encampment. Speaking of, this could not be a coincidence, he thought about talking to her, but he needed a reason. Ahh, No one ever answered her question about joining the group, he could use that as a start. But Rovan couldn't get it in himself to walk to her tent, heck he didn't know where she was.

He looked up to the sky to clear his mind, a cloud of a heart formed.

"Don't mock me." He said.

He slowly walked to the edge of the river, he sat on a rock and dipped his legs into the water kicking the slowly, just liek he did when he was a child.

He formed a cup with his hands and splashed his face with some water.

"This is all too weird..."

As Senka walked through the woods in silence, she observed that dawn was awakening. The moon had not yet faded out of sight, but she could already smell the air of morning.

She had not been to sleep at all. She didn't understand why, but she did not feel the need to sleep like most other humans do. Senka had accepted the fact that she was not full-human, so she wasn't the same as them. But whatever other race she was, shouldn't she need sleep too?

Senka had once considered that she might be part-vampire. But fortunately for her, so many factors ruled out that possibility. For one, the sunlight did not bother her one bit. Senka had once read that vampires were weakened by sunlight. In other tales, Senka had learned that vampires also hated garlic. However, she had eaten garlic numerous times with her meals, as seasoning. The factor that seemed to cause denial in Senka's mind was that she did not lust for the blood of humans. Not at all. Sure, she may have killed many of them in her past, but one who slays is not necessarily lustful for blood. At least, that was the way Senka looked at the matter.

After a while, Senka began to enjoy the time alone. Helio and Thor were nowhere to be seen. She knew that they were somewhere in the forest, however. In fact, they could easily have been watching her from the shadows of the trees. The thought made Senka shudder, however, so she placed her mind elsewhere.

Senka was beginning to get thirsty when, by luck, she came across the river. How far had she wandered? Had the campsite been anywhere near a river?

She bent low to the ground, cupping her hands into the water to quench her pestering thirst. As she brought the cool water to her lips, she began to hope it had a pleasuring taste...

Rovan stared at the river. He knew Senka had a joined him, his weird experience the day before held him from looking at her.

"Fine day isn't it." He said quietly, staring at the soft flowing river.

The sound of a young man's voice let Senka know that she was not alone at the river. She tilted her head upwards slightly, scanning the riverbed with narrow eyes. Her sight traced the shrubs and leaves along the river all the way to the figure of Rovan, who appeared to have chosen to rest there as well. Senka stood up slowly, unsure whether or not she should speak to him.

"Aahh..." was all that came from her mouth. She quickly closed it, then looked away. If they were to have some form of conversation, it would be started by him, not her. She reminded herself that she was not there to make friends.

She stood still over the river, watching Rovan from out of the corner of her eye.
