Kevorkian, believed to have assisted in 130 suicides, was convicted of second-degree murder in 1999 and sentenced to 10-25 years in prison but was released in 2007.
In 2008, he ran for Congress as an independent, receiving 2.7 percent of the vote in the suburban Detroit district. He said his experience showed the party system was "corrupt" and "has to be completely overhauled from the bottom up."
His life story became the subject of the 2010 HBO movie, "You Don't Know Jack," which earned actor Al Pacino Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his portrayal of Kevorkian. Pacino paid tribute to Kevorkian during his Emmy acceptance speech and acknowledged the world-famous former doctor, who sat smiling in the audience.
He had some freedom before dying. I didn't know he tried to run for congress..??? wtf

i thought the guy was dead already, was kinda suprised when i saw this story.
when i took psycology class in 12th grade we had to study this guy and yeah he was wacked..

I personally don't think he was in the wrong for the assisted suicides.

it's a very gray area
i don't believe in suicide, and if you arrange your own death, that is suicide too

Ah then that is where we differ, I believe that a life is you're own and you can do as you wish with it.

but where does choice turn into manipulation, you can choose to do somthing but were you really manipulated?
say you have negative feelings and then your girl friend breaks up with you and life seems terrible and then your leg hurts does that mean you should want to die? Every life is sacred.
