Title: How often do you listen to music?

Do you listen to music in the car? in public? How many hours a day do you have music playing?
as for me, I listen to music when I drive, just a local "alternative to the alternative" station which plays local and popular punk, rock, metal, and all the underground subgenres :D
at home I might listen to my pandora station for an hour or two every few days.
I'd say I spend 3-8 hrs a week listening to music.

Okay well... I can't sleep with sound going on unless I'm REALLY tired from staying up :B So i turn off every source of light and sound (althought i dont mind the rain or leaves or the outside sounds while i sleep)
But almost all the time I can after that I have music playing, so assuming I sleep 8 hours a night, theres 16 hours in the day. At least 10 of that is with music playing, if not more.

thats like 300 songs a day! if you bought each song from itunes, that would be like $300!!!

Wow! I wish we had a local radio station for local bands. Theres some real talent in my area and i'd like to be able to tune into it. I go see them play live though. I listen to music all the time, because I love music. I can't sleep well without it, I need to have it playing when i'm going to sleep. :P

Maybe its just my state/area thats able to do this, because we have LOTS of artists that go on to become successful. Metallica, Green Day, AFI, Rancid, etc etc etc

Yeah true you are in CA. The sad thing is a lot of people in my area wont get recognized and they have some amazing talent.

everytime i go in my car, n i have seasons where i listen to my ipod all the time, or itunes. but lately i havent been listening too much to music unless i go driving

Skill comes with practice while talent is just people who catch onto a specific thing easier and can understand/comprehend it well
Like some people have an art talent, and some people can only draw stick figures, but without honing in on that talent, they wont have skills
Same goes for music+

Yeah, but my friends send demos in etc. One of my friends actually has an EP coming out in december so i'm looking forward to that.

:3c I just cant play instruments, cept songs like... Micheal Blow the Boat Ashore, or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, or Mary Had a Little Lamb, on piano (And that old country song Rose Garden by Lynn Anderson, which I learned for my mommy C:)

I listen to music every day, whenever I can. Mostly Rancid, Bad Religion, Bad Brains, and Agent Orange. Whenever I drive, jog, do homework, or simply do nothing. I almost always listen to music.

Actually it makes sense when you read what Addy and I said about the difference. If you have talent but don't use you wont get anywhere. And not using it, is not having skill.
