As Senka walked through the woods in silence, she observed that dawn was awakening. The moon had not yet faded out of sight, but she could already smell the air of morning.
She had not been to sleep at all. She didn't understand why, but she did not feel the need to sleep like most other humans do. Senka had accepted the fact that she was not full-human, so she wasn't the same as them. But whatever other race she was, shouldn't she need sleep too?

In fact, they could easily have been watching her from the shadows of the trees. The thought made Senka shudder, however, so she placed her mind elsewhere.
Senka was beginning to get thirsty when, by luck, she came across the river. How far had she wandered? Had the campsite been anywhere near a river?
She bent low to the ground, cupping her hands into the water to quench her pestering thirst. As she brought the cool water to her lips, she began to hope it had a pleasuring taste...
