Actually your becoming a Little old fashioned kinjo, after the Pentium 3 series the ONLY difference between the celeron model of chips and the other Normal one is 512K ram Cache on the chip, and on todays computers with GIGS of RAM trust me half a meg of memmory on the CPU doesent do much to the human eye for program loding times[asia]
NE ways also, the Computer my dad got ONLY costed 90$ and i have to actually give DELL credit, they put a Good Motherboard in there!
although it is one of the lower Rung Intel Motherboards with a 400 MHZ speed bus instead of the Current 800 MHZ speed, the mother board is made to handle all Models of chips designed for a 400 MHZ bus, so you ask?
How fast can it go!? well they made chips as fast as 2.8 GHZ and it so happends that the store has a CHIP for only 47$! that is normal non celeron (i forget the name intel gave it, i want to say Xeon but not 100% sure)
the 2.8 GHZ duo core was like 150$... but 47$ for 800 MHZ more and with the L2 cache so that kinjo can stop whining that i have a celeron is a heck of a deal!
Now also the mother board Handles up to 400 MHZ DDR memmory funny enough in the machine has 2 lousy 128 Meg 233 MHZ chips...
Now 2 512 Meg 400 MHZ DDR chips will only cost me 70$!
also im gonna get a Nvidea 7200 256 Meg Geforce Graphics card with its own 400 MHZ CPU! for only 70$
throw in a standard 7200 RPM 250 Gig ATA 100 Drive with 8 Megs of Memmory and for less than 200$ i have a machine faster than any Manufacturer currently Sells on the market with out paying more than 1300$
so you tell me Kinjo
