i think, wtf is up with this, because as long as the child DOES NOT repeat the situations in these games, its all cool, BUT NO, freaking parents have to flag this awesomeness

Kids shouldn't play these games. They are rated 17+ and MATURE for a REASON.
If you had a child and you nurtured it to love and be nice, how'd you feel once it experienced violence and torture, and you had to explain what it all is and why it happens? Better to see violence and death in nature than see it glamorized in video games.
Its about giving kids a healthy foundation. Our generation growing up didn't have all these extremely violent and sexual games to influence us. We watched cartoons and played Mario. Thats why we can play these games and not think anything of it, cause we know the difference.

I'd pretty much let my kid play any of these, I'd hope they'd be smart enough to know the difference between reality and fiction. The bible was just as violent as any of these games, so if kids are supposed to be able to handle that, surely they can handle jamming a pen into someone's noggin. (Which, unless it was a metal pen, your pretty much not going to be able to do to someone, the plastic ones would bend in half before it impaled. Don't ask why I know this.

Violence is too easy, all you need is graphics and smooth polygon animation.

Seriously. The gamers have to suffer when stores don't follow the rules. Cause parents rant and rave when their kids get a hold of Mature games. It puts pressure and restictions on game developers and we lose out on games we are old enough to buy. [devcry]
Take Manhunt2 for instance. If they regulated video game purchases, then It would be ok for it to be so violent because only ppl 18+ would buy it. But since it is so violent and young kids can buy it, they edit it to make it "ok-ish" for those young kids.

well, i would say that if the store sells Somthing reated Not for kids, then there is some obligation that the store & store employees have to uphold the rules.
I mean i work at a grocery store and when people want to Buy Cigerets and Weak 3.2 & 4.0 Bottled Alchohal you HAVE to card them, and the Law enforcement test and screen that every 2 weeks and if they catch that you failed their test YOU get fired and fined 250$ and the store gets fined 1000$ crazy stuff, so why not simular rules for M games [???]
