Wonderland’s Disciples

Setting: Wonderland

The only way for outsiders to enter Wonderland is to go beyond the looking glass; to fall into the mirror that takes them there.

Wonderland is made up of five (5) districts: Hearts, Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, and Jokers. Each district is known for their specific habits and behaviors. The Land of Hearts is a cultic culture of faithful servants, known for their fascination in the human body, specifically the heart. For every victim, the heart is cut out and sacrificed to their higher power. The Land of Spades is known for their fascination in the afterlife, and in the death. They are most commonly known as gravediggers; a dim land of cemeteries and death, along with perhaps some other mysteries? The Land of Clubs is full of violent, aggressive kind, interested mostly in the art and honor brought on by battle; best known as Wonderland’s Assassins. The Land of Diamonds is full of greedy lustful residents, interested only in their own gain of wealth and riches. Finally, the Land of Jokers are Wonderland’s Outcasts. Having not fit into any other land, they are of the most cynical and sadistic kind, and possibly the most dangerous.

The lands are of a strange and magical type, filled with color and creatures of the unknown and questionable type. It’s a world of wonder and fantasy.

Characters: Alices and Wonders

Humans, foreign to Wonderland, are known as alices. They are the only true threats to the residents of Wonderland, simply known as wonders.  Alices are however capable of blending into the land, and remaining unidentified as such by only appearance. If they are discovered, there is a good chance they will then be killed.

Wonders are a huge selection of humanoid and strange creatures in all shapes, forms, and sizes. They are to be made with a creative idealism. They can take form as many things in many ways. User controlled wonders purpose is to create competition and get in the way of alices as they try to achieve their goal.

Creation of wonders is granted only with special permission from me; otherwise your character will be an alice. Don't ask to create and control more than one wonder as that will not occur.

Plot: To Find Alice

Although the cynical twisted Wonderland may seem corrupt and evil, there is chance that it can be mended. The way of doing this would be through releasing the great Alice of Wonderland; the creator of Wonderland, whose whereabouts are unknown.  The most corrupt look forward to her death, in chance that they may then rise to power; it is believed that through being Alice’s murderer, that wonder may then consume her power and use it to rule over Wonderland.

Alices do not want Alice dead.

Those who fall into the looking glass are to forever remain in Wonderland, unless Alice is located to power the portal back to the world before Wonderland (the real world).

Conflicts: Getting Discovered

Wonders will not automatically identify alices based on appearance, as human-like creatures already exist there; those with human-like qualities do have a greater chance of being accused of being an alice. Under such accusations the accused will be put to trial and either sentenced to death or let free (results most often side with the former).

Alice's differ psychologically, as their understanding, beliefs, and morals all differ, as well as their knowledge of Wonderland and mannerisms. If discovered they are killed.

Skills: Using Abilities

Wonders do not have abilities, as alices do. When an alice enters Wonderland, a power is awakened, most commonly based on their personality and character traits. Each alice gets only one power, so think about it wisely and make sure it has to do with the character itself.

The only way for a wonder to gain a power is through the death of an alice, to which they can then absorb the power.

Rules: Yep, these things :P

No pron scenes. No sex. It doesn't really belong in an RP like this as it is.

Weapons can be used, aside from guns (as guns do not belong in Wonderland :P) Feel free to be creative in this regard; no enchanted or enhanced weapons.

No god moding; you control your character and your character only. This is to say, unless you have a minor character for the sake of the RP (something to battle, gain information from, ect) Please ask permission if creating these characters.

Subplots: I'm not entirely against them, but lets not stray too far from the plot. This isn't Naruto; we dun need a buncha fillers. :P Come to me about them first.

No making all powerful characters; weaknesses and strengths are to equal each other out.

You must have an active alice at all times you have an active wonder. Alices are the focal point; keep that in mind. Most wonders will die off.

There is some system of structure in Wonderland, so it is not a free for all.

No creating alices just so your wonder can kill them to gain a power. No user controlled wonder will have a power.

NOTE: Fall into Wonderland in your first post, so we can get the plot going!

Special Thank You to Rawry :D He didn’t do much contributing, but he was the inspiration to the creation of the roleplay ;P

Reddened edges crusted around golden gleaming irises, around narrow pupils, as multicolor hair fell in their way. She wore cat-eye contacts, matched with cat-eye styled makeup. She wore a black based t-shirt, with a splattered paint design displaying and array of colors, along with a bright hue of neon green skirt. She wore knee high yellow and pink striped socks, and at her wrists were bright blue lacey cuffs.

Her delicate, steady hands held to brush as they painted strokes across the blank canvas. The paint bled into the page as she created a portrait of another realm; one that only existed within the confounds of her elaborate imagination. Images of scaley birds with several rows of sharp teeth, swooping towards dark cowering rodents, with snake-like tails in a hazy purple setting coated the page.

When her interest was lost in the painting, she approached her dresser. It was covered in knick-knacks of various kinds; one of them happened to be a music box composed entirely of glass, which reflected beams of light, causing the refracted light to reflect against all surfaces it touched. Her hands slid across the surface, lifting up the lid... All she remembered from the next instant was the swirling of the colors of sounds coming from the music box, as they curled around her figure.

'What's happening?' She thought, intrigued by the feeling of weightlessness and the surreal surrounding around her.

Chelsea was sitting in her secret perch of a branch in the old mulberry tree about a quarter mile from her home in the country. It was a place she always found solitude these past few years, being surrounded by the still sounds of nature. She had already checked about for peeping-toms, casually undid her belt, and then slipped her blue jeans off, placing them neatly at the base of the branch. Immediately she let out a secret sigh of relief, readjusting to her previous comfortable position.

She would never admit this secret to her friends or her parents; the later became increasingly suspicious once she hit puberty, she simply preferred life in a pants-free state which to them was "un-lady like behavior". Perhaps one day she could leave the farm to meet others who shared her anxious fear, she even disliked the slightest of touches when pants came in contact with her body.

The autumn sky left only a handful of clouds in the sky this day, which was ideal for Chelsea's secret ritual that she'd often carry out when the weather allowed it. Taking her hand-mirror from her jacket pocket she lounged on the stout branch, peering up at the sky as she raised the mirror towards the clouds. Free from leafy obstructions, the silver edges of the frame caught little flickers of sunlight, occasionally causing her to squint away and re-angle the mirror. A large cloud obscured the sun, casting a dim shadow over her and the tree she was resting in. She held the mirror up even higher, trying to align the reflection with the cloud.

A secret smile grew across her face, she quite enjoyed letting the clouds see how pretty they were and perhaps help them find true cloud-love. Chelsea believed it was the same as with all living things; first comes love, then comes marriage, then come baby carriages. The little clouds were her favorite, slowly floating over her secret alcove in little clusters and with so few clouds in the sky this time of year she worried that clouds might go extinct. She had decided at once,  acting to preserve their existence as their personal match-maker.

As the sun broke through the edges of the large cloud, the glare from the mirror's edge became quite strong. So strong in fact, that it caused Chelsea to sneeze. "Oh well, would you look at that!" Chelsea exclaimed, speaking casually to herself as no one was around. "I do hope it hasn't cracked. I'll get a licking for sure, I never have any luck." She leaned her chest down from the branch that was only a few feet from the mossy soil. Balancing her weight, she stretched and reached lazily at the dirt-speckled mirror which peered up at her in a queer manner. A blustery swell in the wind came ripping across the empty landscape, rocking branches as it collided with the old mulberry.

Letting out a gasp, Chelsea lost her balance and fell head over heals straight onto the mirror. The instant it touched her skin, time seemed to slow as the world she knew quickly distorted, disappearing into nothingness.

Dreary. This was the word that defined Jill's existence. Living in a single-room apartment over her boss's clothing store. Making barely enough money to make rent each month, having to live off ramen noodles. Having to deal with the most obnoxious customers. She sighed heavily as another one came in, but weakly smiled and greeted them. She was alive, at least!

They ordered the most annoyingly precise measurements for a dress to be made. Of course. She had come to expect such behavior from the clientelle that visited the store. Oh well. She mapped out the marks on the fabric and began cutting...

Some many hours later, the dress was sewn into its proper place, looking beautiful in pink lace. "Some lucky woman's gonna wear this for her man..." she said softly. As she stood, she looked over at the mirror against the wall. Her boss had found it at some flea market, gotten it for the cheapest price she could imagine: free. The seller just wanted to be rid of it for some odd reason, and her boss was only too happy to take it. Still, the dress looked nice... She walked forward a little to see the dress closer, and tripped on some spare lace wrapped around her leg. She yelped as she tumbled, her hand coming into contact with the mirror. Suddenly, Jill was gone.
15 Awesome Points and counting...

(Keeping my promise~!)

Iris felt her body against a solid surface once more... What had happened? Did she faint? Her eyes slid open with ease, as she exhaled. She stayed motionless looking at the pastel colors of an abnormal hue to the sky... never had she seen such vibrant colors of such an array of hues paint the sky. Her hands clutched the ground; grass. She felt the grass beneath her... She had been in her room last the remembered.

Suddenly, across the sky, an immense bird swooped towards her, baring several rows of sharp jagged teeth. She let out a screech of terror as she cringed; the creature, only recognized from her painting, dove back up into the air as she struggled to her feet and ran for cover. It was then when she saw, like a dream, two more bodies fall from the sky, lightly... floating like feathers. At this, the bird seemed startled, choosing to retreat. The colorful feathers faded and bled against the sky, like water poured on a freshly painted canvas, until it simply dissolved into nothing.

She breathed heavily, letting out a sigh of relief, glancing around, then back at the fallen figures... Who were they? Had she arrived in the same manner? And where was it she had arrived to? Certainly this wasn't the same place she'd come to know...

(When alices fall through the looking glass then end up at the end of the looking glass, which is basically the same location.)

Bored, she was so bored! Tamara sighed as she stomped home after a hard days work in her boring office job. She rubbed her hazel eyes as she yawned, more from tiredness than boredom, as she clutched her keys in a pale hand and fiddled absent mindedly.
She reached the front door, a small house she rented from someone in the city, it was out on it's own in the middle of a small field. Her auburn hair fell out from the tight bin she had worn it in all day and she shook her hair loose over her shoulders. A slight, slanted fringe on the left of her forehead was the shortest part as the rest of her thick, curled hair fell over her shoulders.
Her slim frame skirted round the large door as she peered at her tired reflection on the large mirror on the inside of the door. As she moved into the house the door slammed and the mirror dropped onto the floor, thankfully not breaking, and making her jump.
"Oh no," she groaned. She stepped cautiously closer in case of broken mirror pieces and knelt beside it. Her dark jeans tight against her legs and she stared at her white shirt with black waistcoat under her navy dress coat; boring work clothes.
"No seven years bad luck for me," she smirked starting to get up when she noticed something strange. The mirror looked..odd, like water. She peered closer, her eyes straining as she felt a sudden loss of balance and she tumbled toward the mirror, her body preparing her for the crash. It never came, instead she felt as though she was falling through thick soup in the dark.
Before she passed out, the last thing she thought was: 'Wonderful. I'm having a nervous breakdown!"
