Is it better to start at the end or the beginning?

When doing things, is it best to start at the end or the beginning? I think starting from scratch is always good. To plan out everything than to just jump in to the end. Things go wrong when started at the end in my experience.

I know some people that read the last chapter of a book before the rest of it but no i dunno anyone that starts at the end
