Title: Hot Pursuit
Post by: Omega on April 01, 2017, 07:37:28 PM
You are on the southern bank of the Khosht River in the small farming village of Farthest so named because it is the farthest east of all the human villages in this area. A small, nameless stream joins the Khost at the edge of the village, and the whole is surrounded by fields of vegetables and grain. There are a few fruit trees close to the stream. The tiny village doesn't even have a street. There are maybe twenty huts made of mud bricks and timber in a rough circle around a central plaza. The village elder ("chief' is too important a word for him) has cleared out one hut and offered it to you, his honored guests for the evening. Wine and beer have been brought out, and the whole town has gathered to hear your tales from the outside world. You carouse late into the night, and then finally you all go to sleep in your hut. You are awakened a few hours later by shouts and screams, and then someone or something rips the door off your hut.

You will have to make two L2SR on IQ and SPD at this point. If you make both, you may take an action at this point. Failure on IQ means your brain was too slow to comprehend the situation. Failure on SPD means you reacted too slowly.

Cholf earns 28*2=56 AP for successfully completing a L2SR on SPD!

You are confused at the sound of both noises as sleep still clouds your auditory sense, but your innate danger sense reflexes work perfectly! You reach for your weapon and roll out of bed to your feet. You aren't wearing your plate armor since it is entirely too uncomfortable to sleep in -- you have no hits against damage at the moment. The door flies open just as you scoff at being armorless and 5 raiders rush into your hut! They are big men dressed in strange brownish-red armor. Their armor is decorated with strange twisting designs. They begin to form a semi-circle around you and they all are brandishing broadswords.

Since you made your SPD SR you were not ambushed*. Also, your SPD exceeds their individual SPD scores and you can attack before them.

What do you do?

Cholf charges at one of the raiders on the left trying to knock him down with his shoulder then if successful raises his Iron Bo Staff and swings for his chest.

Cholf will need to make a L1SR vs STR to knockdown the raider to his left. Your target number is 20.

A successful roll knocks the raider to the ground and you may roll your damage with your Iron Bo Staff.

[Should I still swing?]

Cholf earns 96*1=96 AP for successfully completing a L1SR on SPD!

The raider is sent flying towards the other raiders behind him! Cholf rushes forward to attack and slams his bo staff into the chest of each of the prone raiders. He deals 35-8 hits from their scaled armor=27+2 spite=29 points of damage to each of the three raiders. The force from the strikes of the bo staff strike crack through their scaled armors and they killed instantly!

Cholf earns 16*3=48 AP for defeating three raiders!

The last two raiders grit their teeth and charge Cholf with their broadswords. They connect for 50 points of damage with 2 spite!

What do you do?

Cholf holds his chest as it is slashed.
"Agggghh!!!"
"That's how you wanna play!?"

Cholf shouts in anger and roundhouses one of the raiders with his staff.

Roll(3d6)+88:
3,6,1,+88
Total:98
(Vs STR?)

[If damage connects]

Roll(11d6)+66:
6,3,3,3,6,1,5,5,1,5,3,+66
Total:107

STR is not needed since you are making an attack. If you are trying to attack and knock him to the ground then your STR would succeed. Don't forget to use Dodge on your turn! Mr. Moody was armorless and the damage from both of those hits would have killed him, but I am retconning it to say that you successfully dodged outta the way! Mr. Moody still take 2 pts of spite damage though, so, him clutching his chest is still kosher~ ;D

Cholf is narrowly nicked by one blade. He plants a foot, steps and weaves under one incoming slash. Moody then does a 180° and comes up with a powerful roundhouse! His iron bowl staff slams into the last two raiders' armor pieces. The force from the mighty sends them flying into an adjacent wall, dead.

What do you want to do?

Cholf earns 16*2= 32 AP!
