Title: Rare Nintendo Game Sold for 17,500$ the other day

Supposedly only 26 of these were ever made though thats still sortof crazy because These games were available for play where ever the Nintendo Championships were, and i got to play this very game in the summer of 1990 the one time they came to minnesota, So being if they really made only 26 that means for about 3 Years they took the same cartridges and equipment to the championship shows they had virtually every day from one city to another accross the world..

none the less due to its limitability in quantity as far as video game collecting goes these games are the holy grail of rarity.. and it was undersold most often its said the value of these games are 25,000$ - 50,000$

just even seeing articles now about this stuff does bring back memories and it is intresting.. i always wonder who has the money to still collect stuff and why in the end is it worth it?

...that is one shiny old video game.

I wish i had the kind of money that could be blown away on rare games without knowing if the quality is worth it or even caring.

Then again, I feel good buying old kirby games for $3 and knowing it will be fun.

I bet the memory on that cartridge is busted just like on my Mario RPG and that's why it sold for less

Hmm Might be the toughest rom to get and who ever did it was really crazy cuz to get a rom from the cartridge Destroys the actual workability of the game on the cartidge atleast.. Once it was done the person could make unlimited copies.. but if it has been done it means that One or more of those 26 Games in existence has been destroyed.

Wow, that IS clinically insane to spend $17,500 on just a tournament cartridge! I won't even pay $20 for a nintendo cartridge!

Yeah like unless you have a meauseme or charge like 5$ to play or make some specticale how is it that the cartridge is worth 17,500$ just because only 26 were made and only 26 exist and there will never be more in the world... its like art if i draw somthin it is rare because it will be the only one made by me and no one else could or would duplicate what i draw but that doesent mean it would be desired by a mass amount of people and it doesent mean it would fetch any claimed value

Actually, usually when you make art and actually sell it, the art is mass reproduced, and sold for cheaper prices, and the original is put in a museum, kept by the artist, or sold for incredibly high prices.

o.o

Usually in the beginning artists do that on their own; they set up a web page, upload pictures of the art, and ordered copies of it to be made as people purchase the works. I was thinking maybe eventually, if I get good enough in fields other than just pastel arts, I would consider making a site for that. o.o But that won't be anytime soon.

Most artists in the beginning barely make anything for work they put hours of effort into... But I wouldn't mind making even a dollar off of my work because it shows someone appreciates it so much that they would pay some amount of money for it.

The Mona Lisa isnt as impressive as other famous paintings to recreate, I think. Most paintings can be recreated using anything as long as the size of the final piece dictates what parts can be used for each cube of painting.
I've seen legos, MS paint, jellybeans, and now noodles of the Mona Lisa and each vary in size. Its a common concept that is carried out using different objects is all.

I have seen thousands of versions of the mona lisa. I had an art teacher that collected different versions of the mona lisa; students would bring them in, so he had like... hundreds of kids that would bring him pictures of mona lisa, his room was filled with them... they were literally everywhere... it was neat to see them all =3

That cartridge reminds me of my gold zelda cartridge that got lost forever and a day ago. I'm sure if I cleaned out my parents attic I'd find it but that's just a lost cause. Besides, all of the games on that cartridge can be found as roms now or purchased via the wii shop channel(well, most, not sure about all yet. Still waiting for Pro Wrestling for the wii without having to dig out my macbook pro to play it.)
