Its good for your first pixel, tho there are flaws of course.
Gaps in outline
Outline can be cleaned up; Pixels should only touch diagonally, never horizontally or vertically
Pixel art should have atleast 1 Highlight and 1 Shadow color on the INSIDE of the image.
I see you gave it an outside shadow, pay atention to where your imaginary light source is. Most of the time its at the top left, so shadows should form towards the bottom right.

READ THIS!!!! ok FW well, with those tips, and another 30 minute lesson with BD i made a can of Peas!! the backround was made when i was waiting for BD to finish a walkthrough....

Nice improvement!
Now for more complicated details!
realism; Work on making images more realistic. Tweak pixels to give it a real shape and add details to make the image flow over all
Color selection; choose colors that blend well together and don't contrast
Add more shading and highlights; more colors means the highlights and shadows will 'dissapear' or flow so well in the image that you cant tell from its normal view.
