Six Flags waves the white flag
The economy has been quite the thrill ride for Six Flags. The New York City-based amusement-park operator went belly-up in June, unable to spin off $2.4 billion in debt -- even on the Tilt-A-Whirl.
But never fear: The chain's 20 parks, which stretch from Montreal to Mexico City, will remain open. The Chapter 11 filing is "strictly a financial restructuring" of the company's debt, said President and CEO Mark Shapiro in a statement.
The parks attracted 25 million visitors in 2008, and the company made $275 million. "Six Flags has been a favorite family destination for almost a half century. Our financial reorganization will best position our parks to entertain millions of guests for another 50 years," Shapiro added.
Kinjo Note: Geeze, how sad. Atleast they are staying open. I remember going to six flags sooooooo long ago. Such great times, its when the new batman ride was created. Six Flags was always about Thrill rides, which i like.

The prices on food there are high enough, fw. You'd THINK people wouldn't come there based on that, if finances weren't tight.
I was worried for a second I wouldn't be able to go on teh Superman ride for the first time of my life.

theme parks in orlando are busy as ever.. so it might just be NON-disney parks

i never seen the superman ride but the Hulk ride at Universal is insane
why yes it was!! especially the begining when it takes off when ur not expecting it. lol but that mist was awesome too!! lol

Last summer I went to Florida for the first time, went to Epcot Disneyworld, but it rained... actually i had a terrible time in Florida, because I was away from my family and having anxiety attacks left and right

few hours... i dont have much money, I'm pretty poor...
the only reason i even got to go is because we saved money up for me to go with my friend, who goes to Florida every year to visit her mom, but it was awkward staying with her at her moms house, especially becuz her moms a lesbian with paintings of naked women on the walls and stuff, and her grandparents are really mean, not to mention she is really mean, and I was just getting over being really sick and it was a few weeks after being let out of the hospital, and i was going through a lot of anxiety, so the whole vacation was terrible for me...

i laready went, i hated it, would never do it again with her and her family... that was around the time she told Red to kill himself, so towards the end I was pissed off as all hell at her anyway... We got in this huge fight about suicide in her mom's house

Hey animebone, when I saw final destination 3, I would always wonder about six flags being safe. Of course its just a movie, but that would be crazy if it happened.
