For once Kinjo is right; sweet little comments like that are cute once in a while, but they can't be constant or even frequent, if you same them very rarely you might get a cute giggle from the corniness of it but too often they'll lose their appeal
Make all compliments honest compliments, but don't be blunt and rude about things that you don't like (for example if you don't think her clothes compliment her, dont say she looks ugly today or something stupid, you're gonna get dumped) C: keep it kind and honest and you'll have a good deal

I can't ever find myself making fun or saying anything slightly negative about a girl when she is my gf.
I mean I will joke around and say. "Hey wonderful person", when I call her and say JK after, but nothing serious because I don't like hurting people's feelings, and sometimes I am blinded by love... I was a lot in Highschool, and I don't say that because they are exes.
