Internet Blacklist Legislation
« on: November 17, 2011, 12:38:56 AM »
On November 16th, Congress holds hearings on the first American Internet censorship system. This bill can pass. If it does, the Internet and free speech will never be the same.

Protect the Internet.

imagine sites you love blocked because of this bill, when you go there and all you see is a page like this!

Don't understand what's at risk still?
Here is an video.

Maybe! However sites like Google and Yahoo, Youtube, and twitter and possibly even facebook would be taken down if this law passes.  How are they going to find out about the 4m without these sites?

By looking up zombie movies, just like I did! [marvwave]

But apparently, Obama said he'll veto it once it reaches him. The only good thing to come out of this bill is that child pronography will be gone, which should have happened a long time ago.

The thing you don't realize is that sites such as newgrounds and youtube will be gone.  Those are the targeted websites.  Anything that has any media on it, will just need any copyright owner to point the finger at a website with there material on their entire website, and their website will be banned from anyone is the US from visiting it.  It could even be a pop song cover sang by a teenager just to show they like the song would cause the site to be banned.

Don't forget,  we also have super mario and other copyrighted stuff posted all over this forum. If this thing passes, we'll practically have to make the cleanest, most boring, straight-forward forum in the world. Marv won't be able to make pop culture references anymore! [seal]
