Thanksgiving of toothpicks and chipped nailpolish :<
So instead of going to the hospital right away I took pix and made a topic.

Nope it still has a toothpick stuck in it; when my brother came to get me to take me to the hospital he decided he was too tired, took me back to his house, told me to soak it in ice water and got a pair of pliers. o.o Needless to say I told him to stay the heck away from me. o.o My mom was passed out drunk. :< It still hurts really bad...

Aren't you supposed to put a fork in it to check if its done? Forks are for checking meats, like feets! Toothpicks are for checking if brownies are done, NOT FOR FEET! [win]

Yeah the tendon was damaged real bad so none of my toes can wiggles no more; not til they are healed, and I've got a serious infection :< They couldnt get all the toothpick out so i have to see a specialist, its also almost triple the original size, and mah toes started turning blue :Dc I had the tooth pick in for nearly 12 hours before someone finally removed it. :I
That's a story all on its own XD the foot its in isnt actually the foot that stepped on it; i stepped on it with the left foot, and it caused me to flinch, causing me to fall; while falling, my right foot slammed into the bottom of the left foot, and the toothpick lodged itself into the right foot, and just a small tip of it broke off and was in the left... i took that out myself.
It was all in all a painful experience, and now i have to be on crutches for a while, but its otay :> You'll be happy to know I DIDNT CRY OR SCREAM OR YELL when they removed it :I Not even while they were poking needles into me.

its a toothpick, how hard could it be? Personally, I would have just yanked it out myself and called it a day. Doesn't seem like a complex thing. Whatever was left would be pushed out by the skin eventually, thats how skin works! I've had a twig in my shin before, where the skin healed over it and eventually it worked its way out after a few months, sure was tender during soccer season tho.

Skin doesn't always work like that depending on depth and embedding; my dad has a piece of steel thats been in his gut for years. In any event no one could get it out; it wasn't budging and there was a risk of splintering and possible internal damage
The other end of the toothpick was so embedded into something inside my foot that it refused to come lose, so the more she pulled, the more it just began breaking. Eventually there was nothing to grip so she couldn't get it out.

they didnt have to be.. you needed a friend or someone you knew to get you to the hospital now its worse... than it could have been..

Everyone seems to forget what it's like being a minor... I can't get medical help without parental consent; I needed my mom to take me.

actually it would work like this, You would get treated they would ask who your parents are and then the police would visit your house find your parents and charge them with neglect.. Kinda a loose loose if you dont want your parents in trouble but your feet would have the attention it needed.

Nah, I've has a friend take me to the hospital when i needed treatment; they refused to treat me until my mother arrived and nothing came of it besides me being out of school for 6 months
