America seems to be gewd at staying out of world wars until the very end... although WW2 was a result of WW1... even so, and this may sound horrible, but perhaps a WW3 could be the solution. It's history repeating itself.
We are in a recession, quickly headed towards become more of a depression.
Remembering the Great Depression, we were faced with a similar situation, and the only reason we ever got out of the depression was because of the war. The world war started, we remain neutral for almost all of it, but we did supply weapons to Great Britain and the Allied nations. This weapon supply allowed for America to raise its economy because other countries were spending money on our goods.
The only problem with that war and an impending world war as of now is. We were neutral then, will we be neutral now? The only reason we werent spending so much money during that war, was because of neutrality, and if we were to jump right into another world war, well then... Our economy would suffer the duration of the war, and if we were to lose, end up like Germany did, after WW1: in severe debt, trying to blame other's for it.
Blah... Stupid world wars.. I don't think things have gone that far however. It seems to me, that Korea and the US may get in a spat, but at the very least, we are retreating out of the middle east. This Korea thing is nonsense, and since they have been setting bombing dates to blow up Hawaii, and it never happens, it seems much of it is bluffing. That may not last forever....
I don't care. I'll leave the stupid country. -.-

Well no duh the world won't end in 2012. I always figured that maybe the writer of the calendar was just writing when his hand got tired and he set down the pen, then forgot to return to his work.

There is no logic and reasoning behind it. "some MAYAN (because you know, they sure as hell were smarter than us) calender is going run out! lets all panic about how we are going to die, even though the calender didn't say anything about that."

Well I was actually just trying to say that because they were mayans, does not mean that their calender means everything. they did not know what we know now, so why are people believing that calender more than they are the people who have studied this stuff for years.

True, but the Mayans were able to predict many things, and because of religion, ect. so people like to believe in them still today.
