Today i was walking trough my living room, bored to tears. Out of nowhere i hear a loud THUNK against the large sliding glass doors in the rear of my house.
A common Grey dove had flown into it, and was lying crippled on the back porch. As i went to investigate it tried to fly away on a broken wing. I soon had caught the poor thing, and knowing that a broken wing is a death sentence for a bird i ripped its little head off quickly, so as to minimize the suffering.
This isn't my first time doing this, i hunt these guys every year in August. They are delicious stuffed with jalapeno and wrapped in bacon.
This was a learning experience, as i can now confirm the myth that the head stays alive for about 20 seconds after dismemberment.
