Infamous Domino's location closes doors

CONOVER, N.C. -- The owner of a Domino's pizza store that captured national attention after videos were posted on YouTube has closed the store as a result of the prank.

Closed signs have been placed in the windows and the phone has been disconnected.

Two employees at the Conover store made videos of themselves tampering with food while at work, and then posted the videos on the popular Web site YouTube. The employees claimed the videos were a prank.

According to Tim McIntyre, vice president of Communications for Domino's Pizza, "The closing of the Conover store is a direct result of the videos posted on YouTube."

hat video shows Michael Setzer and Kristy Hammonds doing disgusting things with food.

We tried reaching the owner of the franchise, Kevin Hendren, to no avail.

McIntyre said an estimated 20 people worked at the location.

"Employees of that store have been victimized by their co-workers and have all lost their jobs because of their prank," said McIntyre.

Because of the prank, the closing doesn't come as much of a surprise to some, considering the graphic nature of the video.

"Hopefully, they'll never work in a restaurant again, no restaurant," said Deloris Jackson, who says she was disgusted by the video.

Both Setzer and Hammonds are facing food tampering charges.

This is exactly why I don't eat fast food or takeout much anymore. You just cannot trust some people anymore, unless they work at Giant or are your friends.

I dont eat it because its just plain gross...

Also, from experience, usually at restaurants, the cooks are so busy trying to make ALL the orders fast enough, they dont have time to screw with the food before it goes out.. so you can trust most places...

Fast food is entirely different from dining out.

Not really... o.o
Its not prepared FOR you, its prepared for anyone who orders it; most that stuff is cooked ahead of time, or already in the process of cooking before you even order it. Also, sanitation in those places suck. The cooks at the grills constantly burn themselves, and I've seen some nasty burns get infected and they still have to work with pus oozing out... its gross.... x_X

Subway is very clean. I work there, I know. :C

But, I think I want to avoid food service. I think I'll try applying for a bunch of CVSs and such around here.
