Pirates are unemployed guys with a tendency to rape, steal, pillage, and plunder. That seems like a bit of a generalization. There were some honorable (as far as thieves go) pirates. The thing many people don't realize is that this is always a "which is cooler" discussion, not "which would win in a fight" discussion. Which would bring up the question of what kind of fight. Pirates could obviously win a straight on fight since they have guns, grenades and cannons. On the other hand a ninja would probably assassinate the pirate while they sleep. As for which one is cooler, I believe ninjas are, as pirates have bad teeth and gingivitis is NEVER cool.
