I finally saw this movie--hot damn, was it good! Kinjo, how can you say there wasn't enough nazi killing? The climax is a hotbox of Nazi's being picked off by machine gun fire! I absolutely loved this film--plenty of shades from french films and The Dirty Dozen.
Valkyrie, fw, has almost no nazi killing. It's really just a well-made pg13 movie, if anything.

Of course--it's a really good movie. IB is still miles better and more entertaining, though.

Anyway, I saw this movie, it was very awesome. I wish World War II ended like that.
Agreed. [yum]

IB won my heart. I saw Valkyrie first and although it was well made, I hated it because I knew the ending. I was dreading the ending of IB because I didn't want to watch the heroes fail. And then, to my sheer delight... they didn't! Terrantino is amazing because when history says "didn't" he says "did." I love the take he has on movies. He's not a visionary of spirituality or society or anything so important. He is exactly what a director should be: a visionary of entertainment. IB was the best movie of his I have seen. Yeah I said it. Better than Pulp Fiction. I've been waiting to watch the Nazi's butts get kicked since Indiana Jones: The Arc of the Covenant.
Basterds ftw!

Well I mean it was a good story and a well made movie but the fact remains: every Nazi movie is pretty depressing. I think every once in awhile they need to get their butts kicked and their faces melted, and I was long overdue to see some Aryan gore.
