The gates opened, creaking with a loud screech as the metal grinded together, and allowed entrance down the path surround by flora.
Aleigh sighed, glancing back at Fozzie Bear.
"Should you just let him off on his own?" one of the guards asked.
"I don't think he's any kind of threat..." she replied, as the glanced at her pet. "Keep him company, will you?" she asked the weasel who had by this time returned to its tiny self, which raced off.
They walked down the path, and the doors to the building, made of large intricately carved stone opened to reveal vast marble floors and stoney walls, all with wondrous carvings, and potted plants in bejeweled pots decorated the place.
"This way," Aleigh led on through the ever so familiar halls, until they reached a pair of dual doors. She knocked three times, and a voice spoke from inside.
"Who's there?"
"Princess Aleigh, with Zexius Ignium and a group of travelers found on the outskirts of the village." Aleigh spoke back.
The doors opened towards them, as an older man came towards them, "Aleigh! It's been a while! You never stop by to visit me!" the man said, giving her an embrace.
"We live in the same building, you could always visit me..." she spoke uninterested, "Though domestic issues are not what we are here to discuss."
"Right, then why have you come to us?" he spoke.
She motioned to the group brought along with them, "They were being attacked by a sand worm outside the village, and nearing closer... They seemed possibly a threat, but spoke of being stranded. Having them around and free, unknowing if that was safe seemed risky and I have brought them before you to see your opinion on the matter."
"How many are there?"spoke the older man.
"There are four in all."
"I count three." Another elder spoke, to whom was sitting in a chair towards the back of the room.
"The other is in the town with Hiroto." she answered.
There was a third that seemed to be muttering to himself, before standing up, "Four unknown outlanders of an unknown likeness and species has come to our village in such a time?" his voice spoke with curiosity and strangeness, almost a sense of astonishment.
"What are you getting at?" Asked the other, whom was in the chair.
The man stood and scrambled to another side of the room, where cases of books stood, beside a table with candles upon it. He reached for an old text, to which he held before the others. "The prophesy." he seemed to say as a reminder to the other two, who looked to the group in astonishment.
"You don't think..?" asked the one who had approached them.
"It must be so!" the sitting one stood, his mood changing to a merry one.
"Surely I hope you were not harsh to them, Princess?" said the first.
Aleigh stared at them skeptically. "What are you old guys going off about now?"
"The prophesy," the man said as he held the old text, "foretold the acridness our dear planet would undergo and spoke of our saviors from another universe who would come and restore our world to that which it once had been. They arrived in a crash, no? It's all here... How they must slay the five beasts that while still alive have the power to destroy out planet and that upon there arrival, they have exactly 100 days before the world shall perish."
"That seems incredibly too accurate to withhold any truth..." Aleigh answered skeptically...
"It's all hear!" The man replied showing the text to her, "All of it.."
The other men lit up, "We must honor our guests! Give them room and board for the night and prepare a feast! The whole city shall rejoice upon this day!"
Aleigh looked to them, then back at the elders, "Are you sure about this?"
"OF COURSE WE'RE SURE! Go now! Show our guests a warm welcome!" and they were hurried out of the room as the doors shut.
((Summary: Aleigh takes the group to the elders who explain to them that the travelers are prophesied to have come and to be the saviors of their planet.. basically they have 100 days to kill 5 beasties or the planet perishes... they are also providing room and board along with a feast and blah blah blah.. thats much easier to read isnt it? =P))
