Title: Brett Farve will be on the Jay leno Show Thursday night on nbc

the Local Star tribune news paper broke insider news today that they believe not only will brett farve be on the jay leno show but that he will anounce His Intentions on weather to play or retire from the NFL on the show, either way brad childress the head coach of the MN vikings said the team has no problem waiting as long as they did last year for a final decision or his partisipation with the team.
SKOL VIKINGS only 6 and a half months untill PRE SEASON!!!

Well, aside from the profanities, I have to agree with Nick.
They do make more money than most people see in a lifetime, and for what? Singing? Acting? You have guys out there working their lives away in dangerous conditions who don't even make half as much as those people, but are risking waaay more.

The guys risking their lives get alot more money then quite a few of the people who aren't. Also, most celebrities work very hard and are very good at what they do. Maybe they don't deserve all the things they have, but if not them, then who?

I didnt say all of them are risking their lives, but a lot of them are working hard. And by hard, I don't mean under some hot lights acting the same scene over and over surrounded by other famous people. That just sounds so horrible, doesn't it? My god, what if they forget a word and have to improvise? That would just be the worst! *sarcasm intended*
Not to mention these people don't really have to go through schooling, although don't get me wrong, I know thats how a lot of them are discovered, and a lot of them do go to school, but its not usually for something long or straining, like the 12 years doctors and lawyers go for.
Basically, I think that money should go to those having an honest day's work. The ones working hard everyday. The ones doing constant manual labor, really working for their money. They deserve it.
That's all I'm saying.

the only reason why there famous is because we make them. once we stop caring about them they disappear and become like everyone else. we hold the power to make people famous. not the music they produce, some random dood could make a sick song that could have easily topped the charts but if nobody listens so it hes just some random scrub making noise from his basement. but then again id love to see someone try to remember a dance and sing a song and not mess up. this topic of why clebs are famous is kinda pointless i mean the stuff that some of them do is great so we cant help but like them so meh i dont know anymore *goes and plays dragon age* [ele]

I just dont think they should make as much as they do, they can still do that as a living, but not live in 5 houses, with daily trips to London, Paris, and Tokyo.

Also, I agree, ridiculous amounts of money are ridiculous. It's not fair that some people are born good at things and others have to work hard and still don't do as well, even when they do their very best (I think that was at least partially your point).

It wasn't mentioned, I was saying profit should be based on the demands of your job. Celebrities, not only are just lucky to have been born with talent, but are also usually born in the right place at the right time or are just lucky. There are so many other people out there that are just as good, but they aren't ever going to be discovered.
Its just that their work isn't that horrible and the fact people volunteer to do tha same kind of work because they enjoy it, and not for loads of money (for local theater, or in high school, during play productions) but for the simple fact the enjoy doing so still undergo the same pressures. The reason they still do it is because its a un thing to do. You can hardly say that for a miner, or a trucker, to whom spends months away from home, alone with any wife and children he might have.
Whats that horrible about acting under hot lights, and making jokes on the set, and laughing when someone messes up, but knowing thats not a problem because the scene can be reshot? Or singing in front of a crowd that paid good money just to see you shine? I'm sure there are pressures to the job, but no real labor. And isn't that what work is about? Committing yourself to something and laboring to earn a living?

Thats part of the whole communism ideals. If you allow for patenting, you throw equality off balance, because those with patented items will make more than those without.

Well most Americans want to see something back for their brilliant ideas.
Say you are a scientist and you've spent 15-20 years in a lab everyday, exposed to horrible chemicals, and studying, reading, researching, and suddenly you find the cure to cancer. In a democracy you are paid off for your hard work, while in a communist society, the government is taking your idea, and reproducing it, and you still work in a lab as a scientist and never see anything for you accomplishment.
Now there are pros and cons to this. You discovered the cure for cancer, so guess how much the cancer patients are spending to buy your patented one-of-a-kind no-other-competition medications? Probably an arm and a leg, in the metaphoric sense. Communism wouldnt have that problem.
But if making these discoveries dont change or improve your situation, are you still going to spend time going above and beyond to make great discoveries and invent great things, even with no reward for it?
There is the ideal of the "American Dream", which is to make money, own a home, a job, and family, and therefore me happy. Americans will work extra hard to invent and discover because in the end it all pays off.
