ARIPEKA -- A man was arrested after deputies said he pulled a gun on a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses as they walked to his front door.
According to reports, on Thursday afternoon, Carla Dignall and Lenore Salvato were preaching in an Aripeka neighborhood when they approached the home of Rudolf Hellmold, 52, located at Osowaw Boulevard.
The women were walking up the sidewalk to the front door when Hellmold appeared in the window next to the door. According to reports, Hellmold pointed a small silver handgun directly at them and yelled, "You [expletive] Jehovah's Witnesses, get the [expletive] off my property!"
The women left his property and called law enforcement. They told the responding officers that they were worried Hellmold was going to shoot them.
When deputies spoke to Hellmold later on, he admitted to pointing a loaded handgun at the women. He said they refused to identify themselves to him, and that one of them had reached into a bag. He said he became scared at that point, which was when he pointed the gun and yelled at them, the report said.
Hellmold was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He was taken to Hernando County Jail, where he was held on $14,000 bond.
Kinjo Note: I am surprised this doesn't happen more often. Sometimes those jehovah witnesses are hard to make go away, this guy just figured this would be easier, lol.

They really are getting gun paranoid, aren't they. Not even in your own home can you wield your gun.

i've never heard any news on guns in Florida, not much anyways. When I lived in Richmond (gun capitol of the US), I heard about them, and gangs, and crap all the time.

Some Jehovah's Witnesses stopped by yesterday and I told them about this incident and asked if they think about this possibility, or have ever had any close calls.
They kinda looked at me funny, but didn't really have any close calls like this. Nor did the thought ever cross their mind. AH AMERICA, PREACHING YOUR RELIGION WITHOUT FEAR.
