Kinjo. That's the POINT. It's not really a WASTE of time. It's a way of SPENDING time. I play because I seriously have NOTHING better to do during the day. I mean sure, I can post. Sure, I can go walk somewhere. But why not just do it on WoW where I don't have to move from my chair? It's a lazy/time spending factor.
Sure, it could be 'outdated', but the whole purpose of the graphics was a transition from WC3, which had even worse graphics, but it's STILL an AMAZING game. The important thing is the replay value and the RELIABLILTY. The reason why World of Warcraft is not like 'all mmorpgs' is because people can continue to play and still have fun, however they also have the ability to know that a multi-million dollar company runs it, so it's not likely to get kicked under the bus and all of a sudden die. Hence the reason why 1% of the population of the planet plays it.
It's not a bad game. The only reason it's 'not good' is because it requires a lot of time, and some people obsess over it to the point where it's stupid. Like that guy who killed his 2 kids because he was too busy on WoW and never fed them. That's why people don't like the game. I'm sure more people would be inclined to play if there wasn't so much negative rep about WoW. In reality, many normal people play. It's just something you can do during the day to have fun and spend time. Hell, me and my girlfriend play together because we can't hang out in real life during the day. It's just something to do, you know? If you say WoW is bad, I think console games are way worse. You spend $50-$70 on a game you play once, maybe twice, only to throw it in your shelf and never play it again. Boring, much?
Okay, I've said enough. It's just bothersome when people say "WoW is a waste". EVERYTHING is a waste, then.

Amen Whales Amen.. me im caught in the middle i need to spend overall as little as posible and yet Live and have fun, 15$ a month for Wow, Accomplishes that better then any other Hobby i have ever had in my life. that doesent mean it will forever but it has managed better then buying 4-5 50$ videogames and hoping my friends want to play with me, and it works out better then Buying 2 anime boxsets and sometimes still having days of unfulfilment and needing to eat fast food or somthing or doing all of the above over spending the bank and still being unfulfilled ... i dont know how to say it but wow is worth the money so much as anything else i would do costs the same or more in the end. and i dont always have the same amount of fun or contentment from doing the other things and most often will have spent more money in the end.

you guys got me wrong i had 2 characters in WoW (lvl 16, 26), the controls were old, graphics old, and gameplay was basic
i pay for gamefly every month so i dont buy games anymore, so i play many games while you guys play the same old game over and over and over that came out almost 5 years ago
plenty of better things to do to spend time :)

Nah. I get bored of old games. I'd run out of fun games to play.
Plus, I'm insecure like everyone else on this planet, so I have to feel like I'm better than everyone else by owning them in a video game. If I can do that online, awesome. I'll do it.
And trust me. WoW doesn't start until you hit 70. Leveling sucks. Ass. Unless it's your first toon and you're experiencing everything for the first time. Then it's... kind of fun.

well I really cant talk much anyway, because gears is to me what wow is to you guys
but fps, teaches you weapons, combat, war
when wow, teaches make believe, fairies and little midget trolls, Dungeons and dragons stuff pretty much

Right. I agree with ya there, but also, both games force you to work as a team. It's just the setting in which you are most comfortable working as a team IN that may really determine which you like better.
And dude, trust me. If you get a REALLY high-end computer, WoW's graphics are sexy. ;) Hahaha!

I play with full graphics and no lag! Yay! ;)
Hi-Res ftw!
Although the blockiness of some things IS kind of ugly, I don't put it past blizzard. I think they did it so like everyone can play... Not just the gamers with super rigs.

my latency is not always great, about 300-400. but my FPS is always over 50 because i have a 1 gig video card.
never a prob.
also i dont mind the graphics, i like the cartoony aspect of it, and it's actually just about the LARGENESS of WoW.

That as well. Imagine the file-size of a game with insanely amazing graphics AND a gigantic world? MASSIVE.
That'd be horrifying to install... T_T

u ladies and videogames on the pc, thats old school
i need my computer for other things, dont want to decrease its life by over using it on role playing games, thats the beauty of 360 and live
the graphics are kick ass for everyone, and every game (mostly)

umm, computer games have unlimited possibilities. the only problem is they want as many people to play it so they need to dumb down the games a bit. but some games, some games are up to date and BETTER than ps3 or 360 games.

lol yeah kinjo all the modern games that Xbox has that has a PC version the PC version will have higher Graphics Options and abilities cuz they will program it for people who have 4ghz Machines with 1Gig graphics cards top be able to use them and sadly your xbox 360 is like a 800 Mhz Computer with a 128meg Graphics card you sir are P Owned.

ya right after all of windows freezing, or the 40+ programs running in the background
they water the games down for pc, when you up the graphics the game cant handle it therefore you get worse graphics a "sharpen" look which is poor quality
