feminism is SOMETIMES sexism, but not always...

Feminism as defined by the merriam webster dictionary:
The theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes

That is REAL feminism, such as, women have just as much right to have a job and go to school as men, and like so, men have just as much right to cook and clean as women.

The feminism YOU are talking of, is called selective feminism, because it's women who want more rights, but not the responsibility with it. Such as women who want their wages to be equal to that of men, but do not want to have to go to war during a draft.

Selective feminism can be argued to be sexist, otherwise, true feminism is not.

lmao, the most I looked up was that definition xD Promise! That was entirely my own thought process I just wrote. (The only reason I even brought in a definition was because I'm a speech and debater and I sorta follow the rules of S&D and make sure by definition we are both referring to the same topic =P)

lol, selective feminists annoy me, i once went to a college class at East Stroudsburg University, and the woman who taught the class was a selective over obsessed feminist that said that girls who wore bras were conforming to knittingism, so here I am in this room, with the really old saggy boobed lady, who refuses to wear a bra...

That.. that sort of thing is just utterly ridiculous, but true feminism, I support halfway. The sounds bad, but the reason I don't support it entirely, is because that would destroy the country's economy. If women were included in the draft, then all young capable Americans able to work jobs, would be sent off the war; who would remain to work? That's originally how women were able to join the work force to begin with after all. Basically, though it may not be fair, the reason guys are drafted and women aren't is because biologically, men develop muscles faster and easier than women, and historically, women were "weak and feeble" and needed a man to protect them, therefore unsuited for war. So instead, it was their job to maintain the economy back at home. Honestly, I wouldn't care much if women got drafted, if it wouldn't kill the economy.

I think how it is now works out fine, perhaps higher wages for women would be good, for the fact that divorced women or widows, are the ones most often trying to raise children, and off a lower income, it becomes difficult. Otherwise, how things are now is pretty equal as is. At least in America.

BtW everyone is knittingist I don't care what anyone says. The total frame work of Feminism isn't knittingist but the underlying point is. I'm sure all of the Feminist want to prove they are better than men and vise versa for men all guys want to show they are better than women(which is not true in my opinion women are much better than men). In my books that is knittingist not human nature.

Men are dirty and nasty I would hate me too if I was a women.
Not really just other men. :P I like me I'm not good or bad just borderline is all.

But wouldn't that make you somewhat sexist? Not all guys are like that. Also, its just how humans are, we enjoy competition, and differences between men and women in the past haven't completely cleared, even after all the Women's Sufferage Movements and such. That is why we still have that today

I'm a little late on this, but:

On the news last night, the United States reported that since 1970, the percentage of working women has increased from 43% to 57%. That is a significant amount. And to be frank, we have plenty of people in America to be drafted. Both genders being drafted would also more or less sound like a Militia army, which is not very desirable. At least we put our troops through basic training and boot camp.

I sort of agree with Daniel on this one. I don't really care if you're a guy or a girl, I treat everyone the same. Although, I do tend to baby women sometimes however not in a degrading sense. Simply in a polite gentlemanly sense, like opening doors, offering help in physical tasks, etc.

I do also reinforce the idea that 'some ruin it for all', meaning some dirty hoggish men ruin our image for all of us. Just like the banning of books in school - They attempted to get Harry Potter pulled because witchcraft and wizardry is 'taboo' in the die-hard catholic community. Same goes for stores: You're not allowed to say "Merry Christmas" anymore (If you're working in customer service), even if it's CHRISTMAS EVE. You're only allowed to say "Happy Holidays". I've had people wish me a Happy Hanukkah or even a Happy Kwanzaa, and I don't celebrate those holidays. It doesn't offend me in any way. I find it bigotry on THEIR end for saying that it's offensive.

Again, 'some ruin it for all'. It's a commonplace in a society where people strive to be 'politically correct'. Not everyone can be equal all the time.

Lol, being a gentleman is different from being $exist. ;D

And yes, women have being getting further in society both politically and socially, treating people the same is as it should be, I agree entirely.

And  [cen] being politically correct. I WILL SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND SLAP ANYONE WHO TRIES TO QUESTION ME! It's called common courtesy! I don't even have a religion and I celebrate Christmas, so don't feed me the whole "I'm not Christian" load, cuz neither am I, I'm just tryin to be polite... sheez... annoying pains in the asses... If someone ever said "happy hanakaa/kwanzaa" I would just smile and say it back, because it was nice of them...

=) I like everyone tho! <3 Except mean people! >=(

I'm athiest and I celibrate christmas, not because my family does not know i'm athiest and I want to keep it secret (even though that's the case in basicly everything else). I celibrate the holiday because there are certain traditions we do that I have been doing sence I was a kid. and I celibrate it because I find that some of the other religions are wierd. christmas gets straight to the point. it's a happy time, give gifts and be happy.

also I find that christmas these days has really nothing to do with old christmas. thanks to all the buisnesses pushing there products over the years and even turning santa into the person we know now.

and about santa, it has nothing to do with jesus or anything. this I like. because I don't have to hear shit about jesus every 5 minutes while celibrating with my family. [drink]

Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones, for me. Gifts are secondary. It shows thoughtfulness, but doesn't actually express any sort of happiness and such. I enjoy the holidays because people are in a good mood, and I love the snow.
