Title: FW's Quest for a New Desktop!

My savings bonds my great grandmother saved for me have finally come in, so I have a few $$$$'s to drop on a much needed computer.
My general goal is to have a high performance Desktop that runs XP, good for programming, has a good multi-media package, and two good size flatscreen monitors.
Anything else I should look for?
Anyone have an idea of some general specs that are modern and sufficient for mah needs?
I'm going shopping on Saturday/Sunday and Might make a purchase.
What color should it be?

Pentium Duo Core, 3 GHZ+..
may want a 256 Meg or higher GeForce graphics card...
make sure to have 2-4 Gigs of DDR2 memory in the comp and that thing would be flyin and could even run windows Vista Flawlessly..

I dnot want vista,but ill write all that other stuff down.
this weekend i went to santa cruz and got waisted at 6 bars so i didnt have time to comp shop

lol i didnt say you had to have vista but if it works Excelent on vista it will work Beyond Excelent on anything else.. just be carefull all the modern Stuff is Actually sometimes made to run better on vista because it is programmed on purpose to have the drivers to best support the hardware.

well there is an issue with it being able to hand games, since i think it doesnt com with a video card. but i really dont play games that much, maybe a shitty MMO with BD or AF.
