Title: What do you think of texting?
Post by: bloo-apple on September 09, 2010, 10:10:15 PM
Texting is SUPER ANNOYING.

I have this tiny keyboard on m phone first of all, and it takes like 5 minutes for every text. And Most of the Time where not even talking about anything. Texting should seriously be an emergency kind of thing.

then why do you text? I dont

I guess because I don't feel like ignoring people.  At the same time I feel girly when I text, and I am too anxious to talk to some people on the phone because it's easier to talk about things over time. When I am on the phone I feel like I have to talk about something and if I don't I am always thinking I have to go or else it's akward.

BUT YOUR RIGHT!! Maybe I should just stop.

o.o now texting is girly...?

/sigh

We all hide behind our technology making things more and more impersonal, we wont even have important convos with friends and family face to face, and anymore, not even using our own voices; there was a girl in my class once that was texting that suddenly become inconsolable and no one knew why; her family sent her a text that her sister died... in class... o.o thats wrong and that kinda news should never be shared through a cold impersonal text, sorry but no o.o but people will hide behind their phones with texting ect instead of personal contact because its the only way most of us have a spine I guess, however I'm being a hypocrite right now, so i digress

this topic just got serious o.o

and yes texting is girly, you never see 2 guys texting each other. It's only a guy texting a girl, or a girl texting another girl

First off its called get a better phone, 2nd its primarilly a dating tool for the younger generation of 13-25, anyone else into it is generaly confused or trying to keep cool with the young people.

Dont ask me why but women Love to txt and the people who grow up with it may never drop it, if your into a girl and she has a phone i guaruntee she txt with it and if shes not txting you i Promiss you she is txting other guys who she is thinking about more then you even if you hangout routinly ect.

nothins gonna change it.

I'd say its a flirting tool more than a dating tool, since girls and guys take advantage of NO TONE OF VOICE that is text on a screen. "conversations" via text are usually vague and more mysterious to what the sender specifically means.

voice>text

if a girl texts other guys a lot, but TALKS to you its killing two birds with one stone; for one, she can't hide behind letters and reveals her personality giving you a heads up to what she is really like, and two, she can't text the other guys while she's talking to you, competition destroyed!

A trump on voice conversations is physical conversation(ie: being physically in the same room with her(ie: a date)). The original ways of dating are the best ways to find partners they are tried and true, all these new ways of conversation are just easier ways to possibly reach the same end, tho with more room for failure as they get more and more distant.

A person wants to see effort on the others' part in order to measure commitment and interest.

I just observe the facets of this world from multiple perspectives in order to reach a conclusion I am satisfied with, when pondering issues. Comparing present to past, and what have you.

I wouldn't consider that being sexist, just a generalization about a specific gender. Its been proven that teen girls text the most out of any demographic.

I text a lot; I don't find it girly, it's just girls that seem to do it most. Texting while driving is just  [cen] ing stupid, that's like juggling while driving.

I think its actually pretty equal in terms of use, just girls are more obvious about it, and yes texting while driving is stupid o.o

I text while driving, take and make calls, eat,  watched anime and movies on a portable dvd player, and have even changed my pants, shirt, and shoes while driving.

Once I played Pokemon Blue for an hour straight on the freeway while steering with my knees. It was a horrible amount of traffic that day.

Take that hands free laws!!

I also keep the recommended distance and speed, usually about 70mph tops, get into the lane I need to be in early on, and use my turn signals IN ALL APPLICABLE SITUATIONS

I'm an ACE. People make driving more complex than it needs to be.

i thought of a game with txting

basically you have to guess the numbers that go with each of the letters and guess correctly

from a phone so ABC is 2 DEF is 3 etc

5-10 dollars is still a rip off for texting

rather use a phone with new technology like skype, not the old paging system they changed the name to "texting"

I hate it when your texting someone and they use sentences like "I have something to ask you".
Just ask it... Save me the time of texting back "Ya?"
then waiting 2-3 minutes for a response that says something not even that personal.
